That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Isekai Chronicles physical

Bandai Namco hasn’t said anything about a physical release of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Isekai Chronicles on Switch in Japan, but we do have some news on that front.

The title will receive a boxed release in both Japan and Asia. Also, in Japan, Bandai Namco will even be selling a limited edition. Copies include the game itself, bonus code for the sub-quest collection “Shopping” & “Memorial Statue”, original novel, picture drama Blu-ray, art book, and acrylic stand. Note that both the Japan and Asian versions comes with English support.

The Patrick Star Game

A new open world Patrick Star game is in development for Switch as well as other platforms, a now-removed retailer listing reveals.

Igabiba listed the new release this week – simply titled The Patrick Star Game – with a product description and the boxart. A few details are shared, including that Outright Games will be publishing. It also appears to be planned for October 4, 2024.

At the time of writing, we’re kind of in a dull spot for the Super Smash Bros. series. Ultimate’s DLC ended several years ago, cementing that title as the franchise’s definitive entry. We’re left wondering – what’s next for Smash? An enhanced port that retains all of the characters plus a few new ones, or a complete reboot with fewer characters? No one knows what’s next, but just for the fun of it, we’re going to speculate on which characters are most likely to stay or leave for Smash’s next entry.

Best-selling games in the U.S. for June 2024

Circana has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of June 2024.

In terms of new releases, there are a couple of things to mention there. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance debuts at #4 while Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD comes in at #8. Remember that, as always, Nintendo doesn’t report digital data which may lead to lower rankings.

Nintendo updated its release schedule for its August 2024 financial results, which covers the full fiscal year. The company is highlighting what’s on the horizon for Switch.

As of now Nintendo has outlined what it recently shared in its Nintendo Direct presentation a couple of months ago. The big one is that Metroid Prime 4 has moved from “TBA” to 2025, which was confirmed as part of the new trailer.

Nintendo shared new data today revealing the top 20 best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for July 2024.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition was a new release for the Big N, and it managed to crack the top five. However, the big winner of the month was Konami – Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 was the overall top seller.

Civilization VII Gameplay Showcase

Civilization VII was unveiled without gameplay a couple of months ago, but that’s about to change with an upcoming showcase. The event will take place on August 20, 2024.

First up, during Gamescom: Opening Night Live, the first footage will be shown. This will be happening sometime during the event at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM in the UK.
