Katamari Damacy Reroll is a good game with bad timing

I recently rolled up my sleeves and jumped into the rather small Katamari Damacy Reroll demo. Currently, it can only be downloaded on the Japanese eShop; however, it was announced that it will be releasing elsewhere alongside the game on December 7. As unfortunate as the date is, the demo was a lot of fun and convinced me to pick the game up in the future. Here’s what you need to know about this quirky little remaster.

Rumor: Nintendo wants a Zelda game on Switch every year
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
Nintendo shipped Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Switch’s launch in 2017. Hyrule Warriors, another Zelda-themed title, was added to the system’s library earlier this year. This streak may continue in the future, as Eurogamer claims that “Nintendo is keen to have a Zelda game launch on Switch every year.”
The company has many possibilities at its disposal going forward. Last weekend, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma seemingly teased Skyward Sword for Switch. Nintendo could also bring over the Wii U versions of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. There also hasn’t been a new 2D Zelda in awhile, and we’re bound to get another 3D entry at some point – just not next year.
Meanwhile, a lot has been made about a recent comment from Game Informer editor Imran Khan who said on a podcast that “the next Zelda will probably be sooner than we think.”
Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Masuda stresses Pokemon: Let’s Go isn’t a spin-off, future titles could connect to Pokemon GO
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Since the announcement of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee, some fans have questioned if the titles could be viewed as a spin-offs. However, in a new interview with director Junichi Masuda, he made it clear that it wasn’t the case. Masuda mentioned in the game’s official Japanese strategy title that the new Switch games “aren’t spin-offs” and are instead “core Pokemon titles.”
Masuda also addressed the possibility of having future Pokemon entries be compatible with Pokemon GO. He explained that if the functionality is well received in Pokemon: Let’s Go, “then we’ll think about maybe having future titles also be able to connect to it.”

Super Metroid programmer recalls sneaking in a reference to a girl he was dating

Shumpalations has translated a classic interview with Yasuhiko Fujii. Fujii previously worked at Nintendo, and more specifically, on Super Metroid as a programmer.
At one point, Fujii was asked if there were any scenes in Super Metroid that were his ideas. That prompted him to recall how he snuck in a reference to a girl he was dating by the movement pattern of a certain group of Evir enemies.
