Shantae developer WayForward is working on a new game based on The Mummy for Switch. The Mummy Demastered will launch on the console and other platforms in August, publisher Universal Brand Development announced today.
Here’s an overview:
“The Mummy Demastered from WayForward, known for pixel games that bring the look and fun of classic arcades to modern consoles, is a platforming adventure game based on The Mummy. Launching in late August 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam, players will enter a world of evil as an elite Prodigium agent who is tasked to take down Princess Ahmanet’s army of the undead and save the world at any cost. Players will explore dark forests, maze-like military compounds and the sandstorm-filled streets of London in this retro-inspired adventure.”

Miyamoto on Super Nintendo World – possible Switch interactivity, non-Mario representation, more
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Switch | 8 Comments
Yesterday, Nintendo and Universal Studios Japan held a special ceremony to announce the official start of construction on Super Nintendo World. 4Gamer shared some comments from Shigeru Miyamoto following the event.
At one point of the interview, Miyamoto touched on possible Switch interactivity at the park. He joked around by saying that he hopes the system will be even more popular in 2020, and thinks it could have a lifespan of longer than five years. According to Miyamoto, they’re thinking of potential interactivity between Switch and Super Nintendo World, and preparations are already in place for that. Nintendo is sharing their know-how from past experiences (like the 3DS at the Louvre Museum) and experimentation with Universal Studios and they are both are planning on how to implement the feature.

[Review] ARMS
Posted on 7 years ago by Philip(@P_Trah) in Reviews, Switch | 18 Comments
System: Switch
Release date: June 16, 2017
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher Nintendo
It feels commonplace with Nintendo to expect at least one new first-party IP to follow the most recent console launch. Enter ARMS, Nintendo’s latest original game, and their take on a more competitive-styled fighter. Nintendo has had experience with the fighting game genre in the past with the Smash Bros. series, but instead of leaning more towards the party-style that has been the intended main focus Smash Bros., ARMS seems to lend itself to a more competitive one-on-one style of fighting game in the vein of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat while still maintaining the big N’s signature twist on a traditional genre.

Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 14 Comments
The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy creator Edmund McMillen has announced his next game. The End Is Nigh, developed by McMillen as well as Tyler Glaiel, has actually pretty much finished development. It’s launching on Steam in about a month, with a release on Switch to follow later.
The End Is Nigh features adventure-platformer gameplay. Players can control Ash in over 600 levels scattered across 12+ chapters.
A teaser trailer and additional information about The End is Nigh are attached below.
The End Is Nigh is a sprawling adventure platformer where the player takes control over Ash, one of few “things” that have “survived” the “end of the world”.
Follow Ash as he flops his way through a future of pain and suffering. Feel his stress levels rise as you throw him into an endless swarm of decaying, mutant animal-like creatures and help aid his final epic quest… to simply make a friend (out of pieces of people he finds along his journey).
Oh, also you collect video game cartridges and tumors! if that does anything for ya.
Features:
600+ levels!12+ explorable chapters!
20+ collectible and fully playable mini game cartridges! (each with their own tiny achievements!)
80+ achievements that will make you feel good about yourself
100s of collectible little squishy tumors!
loads of hidden extras and endings that you will probably see someone else find before you do!
and stress!
