Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be receiving yet another update, though it appears this one will be a bit more significant than what we’ve previously seen. Nintendo will be including some ‘balance fixes’ and while they haven’t detailed specifically what that means, those that have version 1.0.3 or earlier will not be able to challenge those on 1.0.4 once they’ve updated.

Last week we detailed some information on the incredibly in depth Final Fantasy Explorers lite version, the demo for the eShop that will be released some time before the full game. More information surfaced today that much like the Bravely Default demo, things from the demo such as battle items, abilities, gil and crystal points will be inherited by characters in the final release. At the moment this only applies to the Japanese version but we suspect this will find it’s way west as we get closer to that release.

The Wii U version-exclusive Master Fortress is only available in single-player mode. You’ll need to attack its heartlike cores.

For example, here’s the starting line of a power-cruising race. You may also find yourself at a mountain summit, in front of a fountain, on a suspension bridge, in a fighting arena, or riding on a boat. The stage really feels like a resort vacation.

I’ve been so busy with developing this game that I dreamed about tropical islands every time I saw this stage. …Beaches in the summer are great, aren’t they?

New Characters

Koichiro Takashi (voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama) – A first year, he speaks in a strange way that mixes Hiroshima’s local dialect with the sort of lines you’d expect out of a historical play. Able to hold his own in a fight, he can lift people up in the air with a single hand. Upon entering school and seeing its rampant chaos, he knew he had to do something. Often fighting alone to help maintain the peace, he’s a misunderstood soul by many.
