Hamster Corporation has been one of the steadiest supporters of the Switch since day one with their Arcade Archives NeoGeo titles. Today, they announced that combined worldwide sales for all ACA NeoGeo games have exceeded one million. More Arcade Archives games are on the way, naturally, like Samurai Showdown II next week.

Last month, Rock Pocket Games announced that Shiftlings, a puzzle game that was released on Wii U, would be coming to Switch. Today, they confirmed that release as Shiftlings Enhanced Edition. As the name implies, several improvements have been added, such as 60 fps, updated level designs and new help features. A release date for the game hasn’t been announced yet. On an episode of Daan Koopman’s eShop Action Committee podcast, Image & Form’s Brjann Sigurgeirsson has announced that the original SteamWorld Dig will be released on Nintendo Switch on February 1st. On the North American eShop, the game will cost $9.99.

SteamWorld Dig was originally released on Nintendo 3DS back in 2013 and was later ported to other platforms. Its sequel, SteamWorld Dig 2, was one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed indie games on the Switch last year.

Yuji Naka, most famous for his heavy involvement with the Sonic series since its beginning, has announced on Twitter that he has joined Square Enix. He will be working in game development and says that he aims to develop “an enjoyable game”.

He was a key member of SEGA and Sonic Team for over 20 years, first as a programmer on Sonic games, then later on as a general producer. In 2006, he left SEGA to create his own studio, Prope.

Following similar stories from multiple other countries, the Switch has become the fastest selling console of all time in Spain. In its first ten months on the market, the Switch has sold more units than any other system to date. The previous record holder was the Wii.

Last March, the Switch set another record in Spain when it became the country’s most successful console launch of all time, selling 44,673 units during its launch weekend. It seems like the Switch was able to keep up that momentum throughout the rest of 2017.
