Although Nintendo has stated that January will be the last month of free content releases for Splatoon, it seems that it will be a month packed with updates. This is already the third content addition to the game since Christmas.

The new weapon is called the Sloshing Machine Neo and is it is similar to one already in the game called the Sloshing Machine. Visually it looks like a washing machine with a sticker on it. The Sloshing Machine Neo includes two weapons: Point Sensors (Sub Weapon) and the Inkzooka (Special Weapon).

The Sloshing Machine Neo will be available at:

– 6 PM PT
– 9 PM ET
– 2 AM in the UK
– 3 AM in Europe

Update: Confirmed for a Q1 release in Europe.


Marvelous has officially announced that Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale will be coming to Europe and Australia this year. It was speculated that this was coming towards the end of 2015 but this is the first official confirmation. No word yet on a release date but hopefully that comes soon. Check out the trailer below:

Xenoblade Chronicles X

Now that the holiday season is over Nintendo seems to be resuming the weekly maintenance schedule for Xenoblade Chronicles X. All online services for the game will be down for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. The exact schedule is as follows:

– 5:50 PM PT – 10:30 PM PT
– 8:50 PM ET – 10:30 PM ET
– 1:50 AM in the UK – 2:30 AM in the UK
– 2:50 AM in Europe – 4:30 AM in Europe

In an interview earlier this year Nintendo stated that distribution of free content for Splatoon would be ending in January 2016. Just now, Nintendo announced that a new map named Piranha Pit will be added to the game starting Tuesday in Japan and around the world. The release time of the new map is as follows:

  • Europe: 3AM
  • UK: 2AM
  • North America (ET): 9PM (today)
  • North America (PT): 6PM (today)
  • Japan: 11AM

Hopefully we see a few more updates and a bit more content added to the game before Nintendo officially stops work on the title next month.

Monster Strike 3DS, originally a mobile phone smash game has shipped over a million copies in Japan in only two days. The currently Japan exclusive game is a beefed-up version of the phone game with additions to both the story and gameplay as well as the removal of microtransactions. Sales numbers include both physical and digital copies of the game.

Miiverse


Today (December 9) Nintendo sent out another update for the Miiverse social network. There are no major changes this time but the update does apply to all platforms (Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and web). The two main changes for the December 9th update are:

  • titles can now be added to Discussion posts to make it easier for users to search through them and find ones that interest them.
  • the layout of the Discussion section has been altered slightly to show more Discussions at once.
