new Diddy Kong design

May 15: Donkey Kong is getting a brand new design for Donkey Kong Bananza on Nintendo Switch 2, and it now appears that Nintendo is updating the look for Diddy Kong as well. However, the adjustments are much more subtle.

A news post was sent out to Nintendo Switch owners this week which shows how Diddy Kong has changed. There are a few main differences. First, Diddy Kong now has teeth. There’s also the fact that the Nintendo logo has been removed from the character’s hat. Finally, his feet have been adjusted for whatever reason.

We’ve been waiting on this one quite a bit as the original announcement for Nintendo’s console took place in 2022. Designer Dave Gilbert has been working on this one for almost six years.

Here’s a recap on what to expect:

Thank Goodness You're Here physical

Lost In Cult today announced that it’s entering the video game publishing business, and to kick things off, it will produce physical versions of Thank Goodness You’re Here and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow on Nintendo Switch.

Both will be available as mass retail editions for broad accessibility, and premium editions. The latter is coming as limited-run, high-end collectors’ releases with gallery-quality presentation.

March 5: There’s more to come for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and this week, it was revealed that Dragon Ball Daima is joining the game with Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta joining the roster.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta will appear just as he did in the anime. There’s another character to come, though the identity has not yet been revealed. We also know that costumes / accessories, equippable skills, Super Soul, and more are a part of the DLC.

First details can be found in the following overview:

Hotel Dusk Nintendo trademark

A new trademark for Hotel Dusk: Room 215 has been filed in Japan, and some are hoping that it could mark a return of the Nintendo DS game.

We typically don’t report on Japanese trademarks as they tend to be overblown. More often than not, they are filings done to protect IPs and are not indicative of an imminent release. However, we’re in a bit of a different situation here. Whereas most Japanese trademarks for Nintendo games are for renewals, this is an entirely new filing. Additionally, Hotel Dusk now has a trademark in the country for the first time (there was previously one for its Japanese name Wish Room).

Nintendo Switch 2 Samsung

According to a report from Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics is manufacturing the main semiconductor chips for Nintendo Switch 2.

The outlet says that the NVIDIA-designed chip will allow for a production pace in which Nintendo could ship over 20 million units by March 2026. Samsung also has the capabilities to increase chip production, but Switch 2 shipments are dependent on assemblers.
