Contra Anniversary Collection landed on the Switch eShop not too long ago. In addition, Konami revealed at E3 that the company is making an entirely new game in the franchise known as Contra Rogue Corps. After the announcement was made, Famitsu spoke with producer Nobuya Nakazato about why the team went with an overhead camera angle, the game’s characters, and the new characters.

Things were a bit slow for Switch in the first half of 2019, but the second half is picking up in a big way. From Nintendo alone, the company released Super Mario Maker 2 in June, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and Fire Emblem: Three Houses last month, and has Astral Chain arriving in a couple of weeks. The rest of the year looks packed, including a big September. Daemon X Machina, Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Dragon Quest XI S are launching over three consecutive weeks. We’re not even mentioning third-party releases, which includes the likes of Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

According to an eShop listing, Machineboy is putting the rhyming adventure game Milkmaid of the Milky Way on Switch. The title will be available digitally starting August 22.

Over the past couple of days, several user reports surfaced that Nintendo customer support was signing off on an exchange of Switch systems. At least in North America, if you bought the console after July 17, the company was letting it be sent in and would provide the updated version with improved battery life.

The Verge has now received an official comment from Nintendo, and the company is denying any sort of official exchange system. In full, the statement reads:

Play-Asia has opened pre-orders for the physical version of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX. This is the release from Asia, which includes full English support. Reserve the game here.

At least for now, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX will be digital-only in the west. We’ll be sure to let you know if anything changes on that front.

Superhot appears to be making its way to Switch. Update data has been found on Nintendo’s servers, despite the fact that it’s not actually out yet – specifically version 1.0.1.

Victory Road will be publishing the puzzle-platformer IN-VERT on the Switch eShop in just a few days. According to a store listing, we’ll be seeing it on August 20.

The site has updated with lots of information, including an introduction, details about the characters, Legions, and more. Fans can also watch a few videos, check out screenshots, and even download a few different wallpapers.

Tempest Trials+: A Heroes Mettle has started in Fire Emblem Heroes. The 5-star Hero Sigrun: Loyal Protector and three Sacred Seals (Sturdy Blow 1, Atk Tactic 1, and Earth Boost 1) can be obtained as rewards. By clearing maps, you can increase your score and earn rewards. Refining Stones are also available by completing daily quests.

We’ll also note that Heroes with Ploy Skills is live as today’s daily summoning event. And as usual, Special Maps: Rival Domains has received its weekly update, this time featuring a bonus for defeating foes with flying allies.
