This week’s North American Nintendo Downloads are as follows:

Square Enix

Square Enix continues to re-releases its older games through remasters and ports. That doesn’t mean you can play everything, however. As one example, there’s currently no way to experience Chrono Trigger on Switch. Square Enix also has a bunch of older titles that have yet to make their way to newer systems.

Interestingly, Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda told Game Informer that hes’ aware of the demand to have the company’s library to be available completely digitally. Matsuda said that a “variety” of plans are in the works on that front, with Square Enix “working hard” to offer “classic titles that you might have played on NES”. In fact, a dedicated project is now in place to port those kinds of titles.

Astral Chain

Nintendo has now opened the Japanese website for Astral Chain, which has a bunch of videos clips spread out. For those that would prefer to watch the gameplay easily, we’ve rounded up the footage below.

A Hole New World, Shadow Bug, Castle of Hearts will be receiving physical editions from First Press Games, the company has announced.

Pre-orders for A Hole New World open in July, with a release in August. Shadow Bug is up next for reservations in August and a launch in September. Finally, Castle of Heart goes up in September and is due out in October.

All physical releases will be getting a regular edition and collector’s edition. They’ll be split between 3,000 copies and 1,000 copies respectively.

If it hasn’t become clear by now, Nintendo has essentially moved on for 3DS. There are almost no new games due out this year, and nothing has been announced in quite some time – including at E3.

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser commented about the 3DS in an interview with Time, reiterating that the company has no new titles to announce at the expo this year. On the bright side, business for the dedicated handheld “continues to do quite well.”

SEGA has posted two more videos for Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. The latest gameplay gives us a look at Hammer Throw and Boxing, which feature Takeshi Matsuda – an actual record holder for the Olympics. Take a look at the footage below.
