The great thing about these tournaments is that Nintendo is allowing fans to stop by and catch all of the action in-person. Of course, those who can’t attend will be able to watch the events online as well.
Here’s some additional information for those who plan on attending the tournaments, along with an FAQ:

Celeste’s DLC will add Chapter 9 with new story elements
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Celeste director Matt Thorson has provided an update on the platformer’s upcoming DLC. It will add Chapter 9, which actually has new story elements. Adding to the story wasn’t originally planned, but something obviously changed along the way.
Thorson previously said that there will be no B-Side in the DLC, and that it’s “after the current hardest levels in difficulty”. While there aren’t any strawberries, there are new items / mechanics.
Celeste’s DLC will be free, but there’s no word yet on when it’ll be available.

Team Sonic Racing DLC not currently planned, no microtransactions
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
At least to start out with, Team Sonic Racing won’t have any DLC. There also won’t be microtransactions of any kind, which some may have been concerned about due to the game’s mod pods and the way in which new customization parts are unlocked.
In a live stream this week, SEGA’s Aaron Webber explained that the original plan was for Team Sonic Racing to include everything at launch without cutting out content and selling it later. Other than that, the team felt strongly about avoiding microtransactions, so currency earned in-game – used to unlock parts – doesn’t tie in to real money.

Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
A new developer has taken the reigns on Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Nintendo is publishing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, but Ninja Gaiden studio Team Ninja is actually in charge of production. How this came to be was explained in the latest issue of Game Informer.
As it turns out, Marvel was already aware of Team Ninja’s pedigree. Marvel Games VP and executive producer Mike Jones said that folks inside the company are “huge fans of Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo and their esteemed history.” He went on to say:
[Let’s Talk] Favorite custom stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Posted on 5 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s big 3.0 update has been available for a few weeks now. That means players have access to the new content and features, including Stage Builder. The great thing about the Stage Builder is that anyone can easily create a level, upload it online, and have it played by others right away. Of course, some have received more recognition than others – and the “Yeah!” system also comes in to play, where highly-rated creations will be easier to spot.
Since Stage Builder has been up and running for awhile, we want to know what favorites you’ve come across thus far. Is there a level you’ve made that you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments below.
