Golf Story

Limited Run Games will finally begin to publish Switch titles in 2018. Now the question is, what will the company begin with?

One very strong possibility is Golf Story. Speaking with The Switch Effect, Limited Run Games co-founder Douglas Bogart pointed to that title as well as FAST RMX and Thimbleweed Park as games he’d like to give the physical treatment to. Even more telling, Bogart later said that “we thought our first title would just be a pipe dream, but instead it’s a hole in one.”

That last line is definitely a nod to golf, and we all know that Switch has one big indie golf game – that being Golf Story, of course. We should know for sure if this is what Bogart was teasing in a few months.

Nintendo kicked off Switch’s launch with a bang thanks to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If that wasn’t enough, Super Mario Odyssey has arrived just in time for the holidays. These two games have helped made Switch’s first year very special.

Reggie spoke about having Zelda and Mario ready early on for Switch in an interview with TechCrunch. He noted that Nintendo was lucky in terms of the development schedule, with a game like Breath of the Wild being far along in development.

Reggie said:

Kirby Planet Royale can now be pre-ordered on the official Nintendo UK store. You can get a reservation in here.

In Europe, Kirby Battle Royale arrives on November 3. The North American release is set for January 19.

After the latest Nintendo Direct, a demo for Project Octopath Traveler went up on the Switch eShop. Square Enix then asked those who played the trial to provide feedback in a survey.

A Switch news notice went out this week with interim results for the survey. It will be open for one more week. Since the notice was sent on the Japanese channel, we assume that the early results are based on responses from Japan, but that’s not officially confirmed.

In any case, the notice has the following results:

The physical version of Rime for Switch is seeing a tiny delay. It’s now planned for November 17, the same day as the European release. Note that the digital version is unaffected and remains on track for November 14.

In its announcement, the Rime team cited “unforeseen production delays in Japan”. This was partially due to Typhoon Lan.

We have the full post from the Rime team below.

Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition isn’t the only Switch game from Crunching Koalas with an update. A new patch is out for Butcher, too. The game has been upgraded to version 1.0.1.

The new Butcher update is primarily intended to fix crashes. Crunching Koalas also eliminated three white pixels that were appearing in the left-lower corner.
