Nintendo had a notable presence at BitSummit this weekend with a variety of playable indie games. Thanks to site contributor iYakku, we have a few photos of the booth that you can view below.

BitSummit is one of Japan’s largest independent-game-centric events. Aside from Nintendo, many other companies and developers were present to have their upcoming projects represented.

At BitSummit, Skeleton Crew Studio was showing its newly-confirmed Switch game BackSlash. Have a look at some footage below via an official live stream segment.

What we’ve heard within the past few days indicated that the ARMS Global Testpunch will include seven playable characters. Everyone aside from Kid Cobra, Byte & Barq, and Twintelle were thought to be available. Based on fresh information though, these fighters might be in after all.

Have a look at this listing from the eShop:

The listing clearly states that all ten fighters will be in ARMS Global Testpunch. It also highlights the inclusion of local multiplayer, Hoops mode, and connecting online for exhibition matches.

We should note that this eShop listing isn’t official confirmation. We’ll try to get a response from Nintendo, but we should have a definitive answer soon as ARMS Global Testpunch begins in less than a week.

Japanese Twitter user kentarock1020 has a son named Hibiki who, very sadly, is completely blind. He’s lacked the ability to see since the age of two due to the rare cancer form retinoblastoma. That naturally makes it difficult to play most video games. However, there’s one Nintendo series he’s managed to not only play, but also excel at.

With the help of his father, Hibiki wrote a letter to Nintendo thanking the company and asking for more Rhythm Heaven (Rhythm Tengoku in Japan) games in the future. The full message is below:

Pokemon GO was a big winner at the 21st Annual Webby Awards. Most significantly, it was selected as best mobile game.

Niantic’s global product marketing lead Archit Bhargava stopped by to accept the award, and delivered a short but sweet speech. He simply stated: “This summer will be legendary.”

Bhargava’s brief comment comes off as a tease for future Pokemon GO plans. Players are still waiting on Legendary Pokemon to appear in the game after all. With Pokemon GO coming up on its first year anniversary, offering these creatures would be a nice way to celebrate the event. Niantic CEO John Hanke also indicated a few months ago that Legendary Pokemon are a part of Niantic’s plan for the game in 2017, which could be happening during the summer.

This week’s issue of Famitsu contains a new Hey! Pikmin preview. The magazine covers the game’s story, amount of levels, and more.

To start off, Pikmin types and abilities are as follows:

– Red: Strong against fire and can move on fiery places
– Yellow: Strong against electricity and doesn’t get paralyzed; can also fly high when thrown
– Blue: Strong against water and useful in underwater explorations
– Winged: Can fly with its feathers; multiple winged Pikmin can allow Olimar to fly
– Rock: Can destroy hard objects

Nintendo is recommending that players use motion controls with ARMS, but the final game will include various options. One setup involves the thumbs-up grip.

For those who end up using this option, Nintendo disables the usage of the Home button when playing online. It won’t work while in matches, lobbies, and other online menus. By doing so, it ensures that you won’t accidentally quit a match.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Momodora V was on display for the first time at BitSummit 2017 this weekend. During the show’s official live stream, Nayan Ramachandran from publisher Dangen Entertainment stopped by to show off the game.

For now, Momodora V is only confirmed for PC. But it could end up on multiple platforms, including Switch.

Ramachandran said the following when asked if the game is being considered for consoles:

“What we want to do is obviously do as many platforms as possible. There’s nothing we can announce right now in terms of other platforms, but it’s definitely something we’re looking at. Honestly it would be silly for us not to. Right now we really work with PC, with PlayStation 4, and with Switch. Whether or not Momodora finds its way to all those platforms is yet to be seen, it just comes down to the hardware capabilities, our time, able to do it. As far as what we want to do, absolutely.”

Momodora is a series of platformers developed by Bombservice. Momodora V marks the first time that the franchise is experimenting with a 3D style. This new entry is a long ways off, as launch is about two years away.

After a lengthy wait, Darksiders Warmastered Edition finally launches on Wii U next week. We have some screenshots from the game below.
