SteamWorld Heist – The Outsider DLC details and trailer
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Image & Form has shared concrete details on SteamWorld Heist’s first DLC add-on ahead of its imminent launch. “The Outsider” is arriving tomorrow for $4.99 / €4.99 / £4.49 or the equivalent.
Here’s the official rundown:
Meet Fen: the latest member of your Heist crew, and the most unlikely of allies. A Vectron outcast, Fen breaks the ties to the hive mind and becomes one of your most formidable fighters.
The Outsider is not a conventional add-on. The new plot, missions, enemies, end boss, guns, utilities and dozens of new hats – of course! – blend seamlessly into the game. This means that, aside from starting afresh, you can pick up earlier save profiles, discover the history of Fen, and add the character to your roster pretty much immediately. And what an addition it is!
And a trailer:
In addition to The Outsider, Image & Form is also pushing out a free SteamWorld Heist update. It’ll add support for French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian languages while also expanding the inventory. Players will have more empty slots from the outset, and getting new slots will be less taxing on water reserves. On top of that, more utilities and hats have been added in. After applying the update, The Outsider DLC can be purchased.

Kimishima on the thinking behind having Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing on mobile
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 78 Comments
Later this year, two core Nintendo franchises will be appearing on mobile: Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing. President Tatsumi Kimishima discussed the thinking behind having the two IPs on the likes of smartphones during an earnings conference earlier today.
He said:
“These two smartphone games will appeal to different user demographics. We chose two different genres to appeal to as many Nintendo fans as possible.”
Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing mobile apps will launch this fall. With the latter, Nintendo said it will be designed “so that it will be connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems.”

Inti Creates provided an update on the situation through its blog, and mentioned that the company hopes to make something similar available in the west. They’re currently “working on securing a partner” to make this happen.
Inti Creates’ full comments are as follows:
Now, as for North America and Europe, we do not have any official announcements regarding a physical version of the game or a decided release date at this time. However, rest assured that as soon as we do have an announcement, we’ll make it right away.
Kimishima: No NX this holiday to ensure proper lineup, not just a Wii U / 3DS successor
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 119 Comments
Nintendo finally provided an official update on NX today, but it probably wasn’t what many expected. Rather than launching by the end of the year, the new system will instead debut in March 2017.
Japanese paper Nikkei spoke with Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, and asked why Nintendo won’t be launching NX in time for the holiday season. Kimishima responded by saying the company wanted to ensure that there were games to go along with the NX.
As far as what the system will offer, he wouldn’t divulge any specifics. Kimishima only said the following:
“At this current stage, I’m not able to say. However, it’s not merely the successor to the handheld 3DS or stationary console Wii U. This will be hardware that’s been made with a new way of thinking. I’d like to announce more particulars regarding its specs and how it works another time this year.”

Reuters and the BBC are both reporting that Wii U production could end by March 2018. The former outlet specifically heard that comment from Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima.
During the current fiscal year, Nintendo expects to sell just 800,000 Wii U units. That’s down from 3.26 million units in the previous year.
