Splatoon – Slosher, Heavy Splatling weapons out now
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Much of the focus on Splatoon tonight surrounds the big new update, but a couple of weapons have been added as well. The Slosher and Heavy Splating are both now available.
Here’s an overview of the Slosher:
This might look like an ordinary bucket, but it’s actually a weapons-grade bucket! Hurl ink straight ahead over an impressive range, and adjust your angles to hit opponents above you or behind walls. The Slosher comes with Burst Bombs and the special is a hot pastrami on rye! Er, wait. Sorry. I mean Inkstrike. Got a little excited about today’s lunch delivery.
And the Heavy Splatling:
This baby packs six barrels full of ink. Charge it up and let your enemies have it! Need some cover? Not a problem. Throw down your Splash Wall! This bad boy also comes with the Inkzooka Inkstrike (Sorry squidfriends, I am too excited to read properly) as a special weapon. It might just be the best weapon for squids that have watched too many 80?s action movies!

Nintendo wins another patent case involving 3DS and other DS systems
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News | 9 Comments
Nintendo has once again come out victorious in a patent case in a federal court in Washington state. Here’s the news straight from the Big N:
REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 5, 2015 – On Aug. 4, 2015, Nintendo won a patent case in a federal court in Washington state, which marks two such wins in separate cases just a few weeks apart. On July 9, 2015, Judge Ricardo Martinez issued a ruling in the latest case that sided with Nintendo on 10 out of 10 disputed issues regarding the scope of the patent. The rulings led the patent holder, Secure Axcess, LLC, to agree that Nintendo’s well-known hand-held systems, including Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS, do not infringe. Secure Axcess is a patent-assertion company that originally filed suit against Nintendo and 11 retailers of Nintendo products in a Texas court in January 2013. Since then the case was transferred to the Washington court, where it has now been dismissed.
“We are very pleased with the court’s rulings and outcome in this case, and will continue to vigorously defend our innovative products against patent lawsuits,” said Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs.
In the case against Nintendo that was dismissed on July 17, a federal court judge found that eight of Nintendo’s popular hand-held systems, including the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance systems, do not infringe a patent asserted against those products by Quintal Research Group, Inc.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD no longer planned for Wii U, but that could change
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 11 Comments
It’s been a very long time since Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water made their plans known about Wii U. As you may remember, the two companies originally hoped to bring Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD and Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty to the eShop.
We found out earlier today that New ‘N’ Tasty is still on track for Wii U. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of Stranger’s Wrath HD.
Oddworld Inhabitants told one fan on Twitter today that there are “no current plans” to bring Stranger’s Wrath HD to Wii U. The studio did at least say that the status could change in the future.
@RockNRogue1 no current plans for Stranger's Wrath. That may change, but it's not on our radar right now.
