GameStop has announced the “Dark Edition Starter Pack” for Skylanders Swap Force. The package will be sold exclusively through the retailer, and pre-orders are going live today.

It includes:

• 1- Video Game
• 1- Portal of Power
• 5- Exclusive Dark Edition Skylanders Figures (Dark Washbuckler, Dark Blast Zone, Dark Stealth Elf, Dark Spyro and Dark Lockjaw)
• 1- Mega Character Poster
• 5- Sticker Sheets with secret codes
• 5- Trading Cards

While on a special mission, a team of Skylanders discovered a secret lair where Kaos was experimenting with a new discovery – Petrified Darkness – which he intended to use to take over all of Skylands! In the fight to stop Kaos, the lair exploded, releasing a cloud of pure Darkness. The Skylanders knew they could not let it escape, so they absorbed the dark energy, transforming them into dark versions of themselves. Fortunately, Spyro had learned to tame the darkness within him long ago. Xenoblade has become increasingly tougher to find as of late. On eBay, you’ll see prices that extend into the $100 range.

So it’s rather fishy how, after mostly being out of stock on GameStop for a few months, the game reappeared. Not only has it been available online, but stores have seemingly acquired new stock as well.

Kotaku reports, via a source, that GameStop “printed a few thousand copies of the game with no shrink wrap in order to restock their inventory, then labeled them as pre-owned.” The retailer is now pricing Xenoblade at $90 for a “pre-owned” copy.

GameStop says it’s looking into the situation. Nintendo has been asked for a comment, too.

A pretty odd situation, no doubt.

More details on Monsters Hunter 4 has strolled in. The latest batch specifically covers the elite Hunters group and Wyvernian Wholesale Dealer. You can find a new batch of information and screenshots below.

– Group of hunters who take on special requests from guilds that aren’t given to your average Hunters
– They are great Hunters and excel at specific techniques
– The group completes various missions around the world
– Leader has a Dual Blade;
– Young but prides himself in what he does while remaining strict on himself
– Doesn’t speak much, but when he does, he’s usually blunt and slightly difficult to approach
– Doesn’t really get along with others because of this
– Lead Hunter’s gunner is smart and level-headed
– She understands the leader’s personality very well and often acts as his mediator when required
– Has a keen sense of judgment, and also helps out the group by assisting the leader and planning out strategies
– Lancer has the most experience in the group
– Noble man who is trusted by the guild and other groups
– Mentally and physically talented, and is very well respected by all the Hunters around him including the party leader
– Lancer is also an old friend with the main caravan leader and others of the group
– Group rookie is a friendly, cheerful, and carefree character who has the ability to calm others around him with his outgoing personality
– Excels at different abilities
– Can even handle any weapon or item at any given opportunity
– His favorite pastime is shopping
– Wyvernian Wholesale Dealer will join you on your adventure
– Has many connections and will be supporting you by providing items
– View the dealer’s different items during the day
– Exchange them for Caravan Points
– Items change after each quest
– Dealer takes requests from villagers who want certain items
– Fulfill requests to gain new business partners and facility expansions
– Dealer also has an item increase option to increase the amount of certain items you’re holding
– Make potions with Herbs and Blue Mushrooms
– Dealer will also trade materials for other materials the Hunter has in stock
– Felyne chef will be returning as a traveling caravan member
– Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s chef system is back
– Choose two main ingredients for a combination of various status effects
– With enough luck, players will be granted additional skills that will help out during their quest

Wakedas, a new puzzle game from the developer behind Witch & Hero, will be released on August 22 in North America. A European date has not yet been confirmed.

Publisher Circle Entertainment hasn’t shared any official details or screenshots for Wakedas. However, the company promises an official update this week.

Two Tribes is bringing a new game to the eShop this year. Actually, rather than “new”, we should probably say “existing” – which was confirmed on Twitter.

The rest is shrouded in mystery. I don’t believe Two Tribes gave a clear indication about which one of the eShops the game will be out for.
