Rumors recently circulated about Shovel Knight potentially coming to Smash Bros. It’s not yet known if there’s any truth to the speculation, and as expected, Yacht Club Games doesn’t have much to say on the matter.

When asked by iDigitalTimes about the rumors, the studio’s Sean Velasco simply said: “No, we don’t have anything to say about that.”

Velasco again touched on the Shovel Knight amiibo as well, and explained how this is something the studio is prepared for.

“We’re the first third-party amiibo being made. Nintendo, they do this thing where they go to developers and tell them what’s next. We brought up amiibo, and they gave us a run-down of everything. We never thought we could do a third-party amiibo, but that’s what Nintendo’s plan was.”

“We already have a pretty big merchandise wing at Yacht Club. We make shovels and shirts and toys and things. We already had this set up to make something like this, and it was right in our wheelhouse. We’re manufacturing and distributing the thing ourselves, but Nintendo is there with oversight. They’ve helped us out every step of the way. We’ve been working on this deal for a year now, so it’s exciting to be able to tell everyone ‘here it is!'”

The first scans of Ace Attorney 6 have surfaced from this week’s issue of Famitsu.

According to the magazine, the game takes place outside of Japan. Phoenix Wright has come to the unnamed country for a reason, but he gets involved with another case. Residents of the country apparently believe in the spirits of the dead. A big Water Mirror (mizukagami) can be seen in their courtrooms on the floor. On the upper 3DS screen, there are images and words floating in the water. The touch screen seems to show part of a testimony and the option to present something.

Famitsu also introduces us to a boy who goes by the name (roughly) Bokto Tsuani. Bokto is a monk-in-training who works as a tour guide to make some money. It’s said that after starting his tour-guide-talk, he can’t be stopped.

Famitsu has another update on Monster Hunter X this week. Although we’ll need to wait for the issue’s arrival for concrete details, the magazine has shared a little bit of information in advance.

A few monsters are making a return in Monster Hunter X. Lagiacrus, the flagship monster from Monster Hunter 3, will be featured in the game. Shogun Ceanataur from Monster Hunter 2 is also coming to Monster Hunter X, along with Blangonga.

Lastly, we have a name for the dragonfly creature previously shown. Pictured above is Raizecus, the “Lightning Rebel”.

Earlier today, Ace Attorney 6 was revealed by Famitsu. We now have confirmation that the game will be releasing in overseas territories.

“Ace Attorney 6 (working title) will be coming to the west,” Capcom said in an official statement. “We’ll have more information on the Western release soon.”

It is not yet known if the previous Ace Attorney game, The Great Ace Attorney, will be localized.

The latest Ace Attorney spin-off game, The Great Ace Attorney (Dai Gyakuten Saiban) was just recently released in Japan. Seems like Capcom aren’t resting on their laurels though – the next mainline Ace Attorney game has just been announced. Famitsu revealed that the title will be playable at Tokyo Game Show this year.

Naturally it’s a 3DS game.  The game is spearheaded by producer Motohide Eshiro and Takeshi Yamazaki, both of them series veterans.

We will keep you updated.

Traditionally Nintendo skips the Tokyo Game Show entirely and they will do the same this year – however, one of their major upcoming titles will still be playable at the event. The 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors developed by Koei Tecmo, Hyrule Warriors Legends, will be playable at TGS. There will also be a new trailer shown and some kind of “event”.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is set to be released next year in all regions.
