[Let’s Talk] Have you picked up a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscription?
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch eShop | 0 comments
Nintendo Switch Online saw a big upgrade this week in the form of its new Expansion Pass tier. The main draw right now is the addition of N64 and SEGA Genesis games. Next week, those that have Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also be able to access the new Happy Home Paradise DLC while their subscription is active. All bonuses from the standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription like SNES and NES titles are also included.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass isn’t exactly cheap at $50 a year for an individual membership, and some don’t feel that the price hike is worth it. Additionally, there’s been a mixed reception to how N64 games are functioning. At the same time, some people are happy with the service so far.
So how are you feeling about Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass? Did you subscribe to the service this week? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
[Let’s Talk] How do you feel about Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC?

All of the DLC fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have finally been made known. A couple of weeks ago, director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Sora from Kingdom Hearts is joining the game. Players around the world were then able to try out the character for themselves a few days ago.
It’s been a long ride for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate going back to its original launch in December 2018. The title has seen nearly a dozen of additional characters since its original release. Other than Sora, we’ve seen Joker from Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest XI, Banjo & Kazooie from the N64 game, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury, Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Pyra / Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Kazuya from Tekken.
With Nintendo putting an end to DLC in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, how are you feeling about it all? Were you satisfied with the selections on the whole? Who’s your personal favorite out of the DLC fighters? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

It’s crazy to think about, but after nearly two decades, we’ve finally seen a brand new, original 2D Metroid. After skipping several of its other systems, Nintendo finally felt the time was right to create Metroid Dread for Switch.
It’s been about a week since Metroid Dread came out. Given that it’s not a massively long experience, we imagine that many of you have already completed the game or are at least pretty far along.
For those that have been playing through Metroid Dread, what are your thoughts on the game? Did it live up to your expectations? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
The Switch OLED finally launched around the world yesterday. It’s not quite the “Pro” model that some hoped it would be, but it does have a number of upgrades. The obvious attraction is the new OLED screen that’s a tad bigger. Other than that, it has an updated dock with an ethernet port, new kickstand, 64GB of internal memory, and enhanced audio.
Did you manage to pick up a Switch OLED? If not, are you planning on buying one in the future, or are you happy with your current system? Let us know in the comments below.

[Let’s Talk] Xenoblade Chronicles 3 hopes and dreams
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Switch | 0 comments
You don’t need to hear from us that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is almost certainly happening. The series has only increased in popularity over the past few years, and the first two games have done quite well on Switch. But if that wasn’t enough, a report came out last month that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is in its final stages of development and could launch as early as the first half of 2022.
We know almost nothing about the game aside from a few unconfirmed tidbits from last month’s rumor, so right now’s our chance to dream. What do you personally hope to see in Xenoblade Chronicles 3? Let us know in the comments below.

[Let’s Talk] Which classic system should be added to Nintendo Switch Online next?
Posted on 3 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk | 0 comments
If there was ever a time for a new library of games to join Nintendo Switch Online, it would probably be right around now, so something like Game Boy could make sense. No new NES games were added during the latest update in July. Furthermore, Nintendo seems to be running low on heavy hitters for SNES titles. So what could be next?
N64 followed the SNES in terms of Nintendo generations, but it’s not exactly a lock for Switch Online. Nintendo has shown more interest in remaking and individually re-releasing N64 titles such as Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, and Super Mario 64’s inclusion in Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Switch. Game Boy and Game Boy Color could be possible for Nintendo Switch Online. Or what if those systems were skipped over for the GBA?
What do you think the future of classic titles could be for Nintendo Switch Online? Let us know in the comments below.
