Just like with previous years, Nintendo has produced a new company handbook for 2019. It not only features plenty of lovely game art, but also a slight peek behind the curtain with the company’s employees working on such projects.

Here’s a look at the new handbook:

Volks Hobby has produced a couple of Shantae figures in the past, and another one is now on the way. You can get a first look at the design based on Risky Boots above.

No word on when Risky Boots will be available – other than “soon”. Stay tuned for a release date and pre-order news in the future.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta write letters to developers of some of their favorite games – namely Night in the Woods and Donut County. Check out the full episode below.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit have revealed two more creatures that were scrapped from the film. Golbat and Gardevoir were close to appearing, but were scrapped in the end.

Hernandez first mentioned the following about Golbat while speaking with ComicBook.com:

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will not release towards the end of the year as originally planned. It will now debut on February 14, 2020, director Jeff Fowler has announced.

Fowler said on Twitter that the extra time will be used “to make Sonic just right.” He passed along the following tweet:

Weekly Shonen Jump will have “surprising news” about Dragon Quest next month, the magazine has teased. Information will be published in the issue releasing June 10.

Square Enix has one upcoming Dragon Quest game in Dragon Quest XI S, so it could be related to that. Of course, it could also be something else entirely. We’ll just have to wait and see, but we should be finding out what’s being teased here soon.

For many, may years, Game Freak has been strongly attached to the Pokemon franchise. However, we’ve seen the studio branch out as of late with the likes of HarmoKnight, Pocket Card, Jockey, and Giga Wrecker Alt.

Giga Wrecker Alt. stems from a second production team at Game Freak that works on original titles. And according to programmer and director Masayuki Onoue, the Gear Project team is being prioritized – even “more than Pokemon in general.”

Nintendo’s E3 2019 activities essentially start on June 8. Three separate tournaments will be held on that day – one for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, another for Splatoon 2, and a final one for Super Mario Maker 2.

The great thing about these tournaments is that Nintendo is allowing fans to stop by and catch all of the action in-person. Of course, those who can’t attend will be able to watch the events online as well.
