North American July 2017 My Nintendo rewards now up

The North American My Nintendo website has updated with the latest rewards for July 2017. Most are discounts, including Art Academy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Super Paper Mario, Pocket Card Jockey, and Picross 3D: Round 2. Swapdoodle DLC discounts have also been added in along with the latest calendar.

Nintendo has nothing to announce regarding North American Super NES Classic Edition pre-orders right now

European retailers began taking pre-orders for the Super NES Classic Edition almost as soon as it was announced earlier this week. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any news for North America, and that won’t be changing anytime soon. Polygon spoke to a Nintendo representative who told the site that the company has nothing to announce regarding North American pre-orders as of now.
When the NES Classic Edition launched last year, pre-orders weren’t held in North America. It’ll be interesting to see if the same thing happens this time around.

Resident Evil 7 and Metal Gear Solid V designer now with Nintendo EPD

Jordan Amaro previously worked at the likes of Capcom and Kojima Productions. Between both companies, he worked on Resident Evil 7, Metal Gear Solid V, and the cancelled P.T. as a level designer.
News is spreading that Amaro has joined Nintendo, which seems to have taken place earlier this year. He’s with Nintendo EPD’s Kyoto section. As for what he’s contributing to, Amaro is involved with design on what could be an unannounced Switch game or Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s DLC.

Nintendo has previously sold amiibo as standalone figures, in 2-packs, and even 3-packs. The expansion continues with a new 4-pack for Japan.
Nintendo’s Japanese store has started reservations for the Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo. Consumers have the option to pre-order the new 4-pack pictured above, containing Urbosa, Revali, Mipha, and Daruk. Pricing is set at 6,480 yen.

– Zelda also sold 1.08 million copies on Wii U
– Total sales for Zelda at 3.84 million
– Switch sales at 2.74 million units during the most recent fiscal year
– Mario Maker and Kirby were well-received on 3DS
– Pokemon GO has helped sales of past Pokemon games; hardware sales up outside Japan

Voice cast announced for Netflix’s new Castlevania animated series

With Netflix’s new Castlevania animated series just a little over a week out, the show’s voice cast has been announced. Producer Adi Shankar and actor Graham McTavish unveiled the lineup in a new video that we have below.

Nintendo on choosing the games for the SNES Classic Edition, was “difficult” to release Super FX Chip titles on VC

Famitsu sent Nintendo a few questions about the newly-announced Super NES Classic Edition / Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom. The publication was able to get a couple of answers from the company about its new hardware.
First, Famitsu asked how the games were chosen for the Super NES Classic Edition overseas and the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Famicom in Japan. Nintendo explained:
“It depends on the game’s popularity, whether people were familiar with it, and number of units sold. We carefully hand picked each title to ensure the game lineup appealed to a large audience, so it makes the SNES Classic an easy purchase.”
