Level-5 has announced that it will be attending Anime Expo 2019 next month. Not only that, but it sounds like some surprises will be sharing during an upcoming panel.

Here’s an official description of the event:

My Nintendo has updated in Europe with the latest rewards. Five new discounts are up for grabs, including Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros., Mario Tennis, and more.

Here’s the full lineup:

GameStop is taking pre-orders for the latest round of amiibo. You can reserve Link, Squirtle, Snake, and Ivysaur here.

As a general note, a number of these amiibo have been selling out at retailers. The new Link figure in particular has proven popular so far.

E3 2019 might be over, but we do have another video from the show. We’ve put together a brief video highlighting Nintendo’s overall booth below.

2021 will be a big year for Sonic, as the character and the franchise as a whole will be turning 30 years old. According to Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka, the team wants to take on a new kind of challenge for the the series’ big milestone.

Iizuka shared that news in a recent interview with 4Gamer. During the same discussion, he was also asked about the possibility of Sonic crossing over into eSports territory. Given the nature of the main games, Iizuka believes it’s unlikely. Other genres may be a better fit for the idea, however.

At GDC over a decade ago, Elite Beat Agents creator Keiichi Yano mentioned that he pitched an action game to Nintendo. We now actually know that this was a music-based platformer, though it never really moved forward beyond that initial talk with the Big N. Yano thought it would be interesting to have a platformer in which the music synced to your movements.

Yano also told Liam Robertson during an interview that he made a number of other pitches to Nintendo. However, it’s unclear what exactly these were.

Here’s the full interview clip with Yano:

Eiji Aonuma has had a very long career at Nintendo, and specially working on Zelda. Aonuma first got involved with the series on Ocarina of Time and has been one of the key members of the development team since then.

At E3 2019 this week, Game Informer decided to ask Aonuma about his career. The developer said that as opposed to before, “I have a great team with great people with different skills to help me create things together.”

New Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser had his first major appearance on the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct this past week. Nintendo couldn’t help but play up his last name, which meant bringing the video game character into the equation.

During the latest episode of the Nintendo Power podcast, Nintendo’s executive shared an inside story about filming for the presentation. He said the following:

The latest episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta show off some gameplay from Cadence of Hyrule. Check out the full episode below.

Through E3 2019, Nintendo had various developers (and more) stop by to contribute to a large-scale mosaic of sorts with various drawings. Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and Hisashi Nogami are just a few who participated. You can view the full video below.
