Miiverse

The end of Miiverse is quickly drawing near. Once November rolls in, the social networking service will be no more. A bunch of games will be impacted by its closure, but the community itself will also be shuttered.

Nintendo is allowing members to save their own posts. Miiverse as we know it will be gone, however. So what will happen to all of the lovely artwork and user posts created over the years?

The Mega Man movie is something we’ve heard about for awhile, though it has only become more concrete in recent months. That being said, it’s still a long ways off. Masayori Oka, who produced the Death Note adaptation for Netflix, gave an update in an interview with Collider.

Oka mentioned that the team “just started” working on the Mega Man movie. The project is in the early stages, and the script is currently being worked on.

Oka said:

Supper Mario Broth has posted a scan from a 2000 Nintendo Power interview with Hiroyuki Takahashi and Syugo Takahashi of Camelot. In it, the two developers discussed why Wario and Waluigi don’t have female partners like Mario and Luigi have Peach and Daisy in Mario Tennis.

The Takahashi brothers explained how they wanted Luigi to have his own partner similar to Mario and Peach. However, Shigeru Miyamoto ended up suggesting Daisy. They also wanted Wario and Waluigi to have girlfriends, but Miyamoto wasn’t interested.

Following Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, Game Freak created a sequel to the two games. At the time, that was a bit surprising. Many fans were anticipating that Game Freak would make a third version as opposed to Black/White 2.

In this month’s issue of Game Informer, Game Freak co-founder Junichi Masuda explained the studio’s mindset at the time. Many staff members were interested in expanding on the original story, and they thought about creating “a game that was set a couple years after Black and White wrapped up to kind of show how things changed and expand on the events of the previous one”.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Grant Kirkhope just wrapped up his work on Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle as the game’s composer. But Mario isn’t the only Nintendo franchise Kirkhope is interested in contributing to.

Speaking with GamesMaster this month, Kirkhope spoke about really wanting “to get on to Zelda”. Part of this is due to Zelda: A Link to the Past being his favorite game of all time, and having a great deal of respect for the soundtrack.
