Sakurai shares development details on Kirby Super Star
Posted on 1 year ago by Nicolas in General Nintendo, Videos | 0 comments
Following his previous videos detailing development on Kirby’s Dream Land and Kirby’s Adventure, Masahiro Sakurai has released a new video on his channel providing a closer look at Kirby Super Star’s development.
Sakurai mentions that the game was created with two core ideas in mind; two-player simultaneous play, and an “omnibus” collection format. The first of these was actually something requested by Shigeru Miyamoto, who had apparently been wanting to implement two-player simultaneous multiplayer into the Super Mario Bros. series, but couldn’t find a way to make it work with the fast-paced nature of those games.

New details uncovered for rejected Retro Studios Zelda spin-off, Heroes of Hyrule

Several weeks ago, Did You Know Gaming? released a video providing details on a couple of cancelled spin-off games that Retro Studios (of Metroid Prime fame) had pitched to Nintendo for The Legend of Zelda series. Since then, they’ve managed to acquire new information on one of these two projects via an official 22-page document, a strategy game planned for the Nintendo DS titled Heroes of Hyrule.
The game would have featured a plot mostly exempt of Link, in which a young boy named Kori finds a book that, unbeknownst to him, was used to seal away Ganon 100 years ago. He would have gathered pages of the book unaware of its true purpose in order to learn more about the stories held within, which detail the adventures of a Goron, Rito, and Zora hero who venture to Ganon’s Castle in a effort to free Link from his evil clutches.

The Pokemon Company has announced a partnership with music superstar Ed Sheeran, and the two sides have teamed up with a new song, “Celestial”. This will appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
The “Celestial” video, which was directed by the award-winning Yuichi Kodama, is inspired by Ed’s childhood fascination with the franchise. It features some of his favorite Pokemon such as Pikachu, Squirtle, Machamp, Snorlax, and more. The video follows a typical day in Ed’s life with a Pokemon twist and has a unique ‘sketch’ themed art direction from Yu Nagaba, whose style is reminiscent of the doodles that Ed drew of his Pokemon as a child.
