Square Enix is looking back on the Final Fantasy series in celebration of its 30th anniversary. You can check out a special “Timeless Legacy” trailer for the franchise below.

My Nintendo members in North America now have access to new rewards in celebration of MAR10 Day.

In terms of discounts, spending 140 Gold Points will take 30 percent off the price of Mario Kart 8. You can also grab the game’s second DLC pack for 60 Gold Points. The Mario Kart 8 rewards will be up until June 11.

Elsewhere, two Mario wallpapers are available for 50 Platinum Points each. Both can be used on PCs and smartphones and will be available until September 10.

Get a look at all of the new rewards here.

Tomorrow is MAR10 Day, and Nintendo is celebrating the event in various ways.

First, Nintendo is teaming up with Starlight Children’s Foundation. Here’s what you can expect from that:

“To kick off the celebration, Nintendo is working with Starlight Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization that brightens the lives of seriously ill children by providing hospitalized kids with entertainment, education and innovative technology. Nintendo will be providing new designs for the foundation’s Starlight Brave Gowns, which help sick kids feel like superstars by replacing unattractive, uncomfortable and embarrassing hospital garments with comfortable and brightly colored gowns. Featuring characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, these new Starlight Brave Gowns include colorful depictions of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong and Yoshi. Additionally, Nintendo will provide a donation to Starlight Children’s Foundation to help create 2,000 gowns for this fun and colorful program.”

Awhile back, 8Bitdo released a Retro Receiver for the NES Classic Edition. When connected to the hardware, players can use controllers wirelessly. Lots of options are supported, ranging from Wii Remotes to PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4.

An update has now been made available to users to add compatibility with Switch. Once applied, you’ll be able to use the Joy-Con with the NES Classic Edition along with the Switch Pro Controller.

You can download the latest firmware here. Manuals for the new controller options are located here.

Nintendo has picked up “a resounding win” in a case against Jeramie King and his affiliated business, Go Cyber Shopping Ltd. – the seller of circumvention devices. A Canadian federal court ruled in favor of Nintendo of America, determining that the distribution of circumvention devices including “flashcarts,” “modchips” and “game copiers” (like Sky3DS, Gateway 3DS) is illegal.

Nintendo has been awarded $12.76 million (CAD) against Go Cyber Shopping, including $1 million in punitive damages. According to the big N, this marks the first time that Canadian Copyright Act’s Anti-Circumvention law has been put to the test. King will also be issuing an apology on his website for the damage that he caused to Nintendo as well as its developers and partners.

Devon Pritchard, Nintendo of America’s General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs, said in a statement:

Mobot Studios is no more. The indie developer announced through Twitter today that the company has closed.

Although Mobot Studios won’t be around any longer, Crescent Moon Games will be handling the team’s games to ensure that they remain on the eShop.

The Zelda 30th anniversary concert album recently came out in Japan. We unbox the full contents below (specifically from the Limited Edition).

First 4 Figures has a video up on its YouTube page discussing the creation of the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild Link statue in-depth. The documentary, clocking in at an hour, can be seen below.

By the way, Best Buy has once again shifted the release date for the statue. It’s now planned for March 13.

President of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aimé has written a moving thank-you letter to all Nintendo fans in order to celebrate the launch day of Switch. Additionally, he reminds us that this will be a great year for the new console because of all the new titles that we can look forward to.

There are two really interesting new additions to Nintendo’s Japanese website: a Legend of Zelda portal and a Mario portal.

You can learn more about each series’ characters and games there. The Legend of Zelda portal is especially interesting since it also features behind-the-scenes info like artwork and production notes (though that section is a bit bare at the moment). There’s also a section that’s not available yet called “Keywords”, marked as “coming soon”. You will likely be able to find infos about recurring themes and names from the Legend of Zelda series there, like the Triforce or the Master Sword.
