Japanese Nintendo page warns parents about children making eShop purchases without their consent
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Nintendo recently published a page on its Japanese website (“A sincere request to guardians from Nintendo”) addressing parental locks on some of the 3DS and Wii U’s features. Internet browsing, online purchases, and communication with other players are specifically addressed.
Nintendo notes in the section about online payments that some children have used their parents’ credit cards to purchase games on the eShop without their consent. Most of the issues arise when 3DS owners choose to save credit card information to their system. The 3DS does have a parental lock, though there are still many people out there who aren’t aware of this feature.
Nintendo’s site also has a joint message with Sony and Microsoft about the existence of parental controls in each of the companies’ consoles.

Hackers flood Pokemon GTS with profanely-named Pokemon
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News | 10 Comments
Pokemon games block players from naming their creatures anything offensive under most circumstances. But unfortunately, hackers have circumvented these restrictions and are now flooding the Pokemon Global Trade Station with profanely-named Pokemon.
Fans are trying to improve the situation by doing things like grabbing the poorly-named Pokemon from the GTS, renaming them, and redistributing them online – which requires its own hacking methods ironically enough. Hopefully official action will be taken in the near future.

Tomonobu Itagaki is working directly with Nintendo on Devil’s Third. If the opportunity arises in the future, perhaps the two sides could team up again.
When asked by a fan on his Facebook page if he’d be open to revisiting a relationship with Nintendo on a future project, Itagaki wrote: “Naturally. I love their talent, their games!”
Another fan asked Itagaki if Devil’s Third has been completed. He explained in response:
“Haha, I really don’t know I have right to disclose about that lol. Many [people] are working hard for this video game industry, i don’t wanna offend anyone’s position.”

Bandai Namco is changing its name, though just slightly. The company will be known as “Bandai Namco Entertainment” as opposed to “Bandai Namco Entertainment” starting on April 1.
Since the management integration of Bandai Co. Limited and Namco Limited, BANDAI NAMCO Games Inc. has managed all game-related projects of the BANDAI NAMCO Group, and has endeavored to expand its position in the games business. The new BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. name reflects the next stage of growth and development for the company as it seeks to leverage its unique intellectual properties and franchises into new business opportunities and a wider network of content beyond that of
the games business.
You can get a look at the updated Bandai Namco logo above.
