Next month, the Nintendo Game Seminar will be taking place once again in Japan. Nintendo held the event last year as well after it returned from a three-year hiatus.
The Nintendo Game Seminar is intended for Japanese university students who will partake in game making under the guidance of Nintendo developers. The Nintendo Web Framework was featured last year, but this time around, 2D Unity titles are the focus.
Nintendo will be taking applications between June 16 and June 29. The session period is set between mid-August 2014 and late March 2015.
Natsume teasing 3 Nintendo announcements for E3, news on VC titles as well

Natsume has three Nintendo-related announcements in store for E3 2014, the company has teased. That’s in addition to the news Natsume will be sharing about new Virtual Console releases.
Community manager CeeCee wrote in a recent “State of the Farm” Tumblr update:
We’re saving a few secrets for closer to the show, but expect not one, not two, but THREE new Nintendo titles we’ll be announcing leading up to and at the show! This doesn’t include any classic eShop titles (and we’ll have some news on those as well). Will they be 3DS, Wii U, or a mix of the two, you ask? You’ll have to tune in from now until June 10th to find out! 😀
I originally thought that Natsume would be announcing a localization for the latest Harvest Moon 3DS game, but as we know, XSEED ended up with the publishing rights. It’ll be interesting to see what’s announced!

New character Sticks revealed for Sonic Boom
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 7 Comments
SEGA has revealed a new “jungle badger” character for the Sonic Boom franchise named “Sticks”.
Here’s an official overview of Sticks:
Sticks is new to Sonic’s circle of friends– actually new to friends in general– and as the most primal character in the Sonic universe, she is a force of nature in every way. Sticks is wilder than the other members of Sonic’s team with unparalleled animal instincts and extremely sharp survival skills. She’s a fearsome combatant and a tenacious hunter who’s armed with handmade weapons at all times, most notably a handmade boomerang that she keeps in tow.
Her wildness means that her social skills need plenty of work and she’s not the most trusting individual. Full of outrageous suspicions, Sticks’ instincts often prove to be accurate. While the concepts of sharing, compassion and friendship are foreign to her, Sticks has a good heart and a genuine desire to get closer to her new friends, particularly Amy, who helps Sticks adapt to civilization. Sticks and Amy quickly become best friends, with Sticks willing to go to extremes to protect her new pal, a quality that will play out through new Sonic Boom content. Her eccentric character adds an endless amount of humor and surprise to the Sonic team.

Nintendo picks up trademark for “Delta Emerald” in Japan
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 5 Comments
In Japan, Nintendo has obtained a new trademark for “Delta Emerald”. The company filed for the name on May 2, though it was only published for all to see today.
When you think of “Delta Emerald”, Pokemon Emerald is something that comes to mind. Interestingly enough, that title was released as part of the same set of games as Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire.
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire remakes were announced for the 3DS very recently. Could Nintendo also have plans to bring out “Pokemon Delta Emerald” at some point as well?

Capcom staffer on the lack of Mega Man games
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 3 Comments
There hasn’t been a new, major Mega Man game since 2010’s Mega Man 10. With the lack of news surrounding the series, fans are beginning to wonder when the Blue Bomber might surface again.
Greg Moore, Capcom’s senior community and online specialist, recently weighed in on the lack of Mega Man titles of late. He acknowledged that four years may seem like a long time without a new release, though it’s “not an extraordinarily large gap for your average IP.”
He said:
“Four years is certainly a large gap for Mega Man, which has some 129 titles to its name spanning just 25 years, but not an extraordinarily large gap for your average IP.”
“Even without a recent title, Mega Man has a constant presence, be it in our news reel, the Japanese investor relations site, the frequently updated Rockman Unity blog in Japan, or with frequent rereleases in the digital space.”
