GameStop restocks Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon codes for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after recent debacle
Posted on 4 weeks ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
After the recent fiasco with the Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon distribution for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet at GameStop, codes have been restocked.
The in-store promotion kicked off at stores across the United States about a week ago. Soon after, however, chaos ensued. Codes were quickly gobbled up – many by scalpers – leaving many fans unable to get a code. Plenty of codes quickly flooded eBay for exorbitant prices.
Part of the issue was the day in which the promotion began. The new Pokemon Trading Card Game pack Mega Evolution launched at the same time, so that was not a good recipe for success. Pokemon cards themselves have been tough to come by and have brought out plenty of scalpers on their own. They were looking to take advantage of the Mega Evolution drop, and at the same time, took advantage of the hype for Shiny Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well.

Now we’re hearing that Nintendo is lobbying Japanese government in the fight against generative AI. That news comes from Satoshi Asano, who serves on the House of Representatives with the Democratic Party for the People in Japan. Nintendo is only a small part of his lengthy media post, but Asano claims the company “avoids using generative AI to protect its IP and is also engaging in lobbying activities with the government.”
