It’s been a long wait for Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut. Despite having been announced over two years ago, the game still has yet to come to the eShop. We were told a couple of months ago that Q.U.B.E. would be out on Wii U in either April or May, but it looks like that won’t be happening.

Grip Games shared an official update pertaining to Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut today. While we still don’t have a final release date, the developer says that the title should be out sometime this summer.

Cypronia has confirmed that Cube Life: Island Survival is coming to the North American and European Wii U eShops towards the start of June. It’ll come with over 200 items and tools, a variety of wild animals to trade with or slaughter, local inhabitants, a day/night cycle, and online rankings.

Cube Life: Island Survival will be priced at $14.99 / €14.99. However, a special launch discount of $6.99 / €6.99 will be offered.

Cypronia CEO Stefan Pavelka said:

If we compare the game to competitors, other Wii U games of that genre, we will offer much more fun and greater value, either by means of lower price or by providing more content and features.

According to Q-Games boss Dylan Cuthbert, who worked on the original SNES title, Star Fox Command, and Star Fox 64 for 3DS, a finished version of Star Fox 2 exists.

In an interview with Nintendo Life, Cuthbert mentioned that he was able to play the game during the development of Star Fox Command.

Even after the decision was made we went ahead and completed it, taking it to be fully QA’d through Mario Club. During development [of Star Fox Command] we received a copy of the mastered Star Fox 2 ROM to play, and it was quite a blast.

Cuthbert also noted that ROM images found on the Internet are unfinished prototypes, as they are missing elements that make it complete. Unfortunately, it sounds like we probably won’t ever see what the finished version looks like.

The legal problems regarding the now-defunct Argonaut Software are probably a nightmare. Never say never though! The fully complete Japanese ROM at least does exist.
