In its latest issue, Famitsu revealed the results of the top 20 games of 2022 as voted on by Japanese developers, celebrities, and more. This is a yearly tradition for the magazine.

A few Nintendo-published games made the list, including Splatoon 3 – which just missed the top spot. Pokemon held two spots with Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Scarlet / Violet.

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition physical

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition will be receiving a physical release, retailer listings have revealed. Pages have started to pop up on outlets such as Amazon UK.

It was just this week that Mortal Shell: Complete Edition was not only announced for Switch, but released as well. However, it is thus far limited to the eShop.

2022 Indie World Holiday Sale

A new 2022 Indie World Holiday Sale has just started up on the Switch eShop featuring games like Cuphead & The Delicious Last Course, Golf Story, and Bugsnax. A few titles are at their lowest prices ever. Fans can ultimately save up to 50 percent on select digital games, bundles, and DLC.

Dust & Neon

Publisher Rogue Games and developer David Marquardt Studios have announced Dust & Neon for Switch. The game, a roguelite action twin-stick shooter, is scheduled to release in 2023.

Sports Story launch

The wait for Sports Story is over, as the game is finally launching on Switch today.

Sidebar Games recently confirmed that its latest title would be available sometime this month. The studio thankfully followed through on its promise, delivering the game just before the end of the year.

Source of Madness physical

Super Rare Games, in partnership with publisher Thunderful and developer Carry Castle, confirmed today that it will soon offer Source of Madness as a physical release on Switch.

The game will be offered standalone as well as in the form of a Steelbook Edition, each one limited to 2,000 copies. The standard release includes all the current content on their cart, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards. The Steelbook edition features everything we just mentioned as well as a special case.

Smilemo

Next month, publisher CFK and developer REXECHO are bringing Smilemo to Switch. The title is slated for January 19, 2023.

Smilemo is a side-scrolling action game in which players attempt to rescue a computer world from a virus attack. We have a ton of additional information below.

Fire Emblem Engage Lucina

To close out the week, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are highlighting Lucina for Fire Emblem Engage – another classic hero. The series’ Japanese Twitter account shared the news and SatsumaFS provided translations.

Lucina, known as the Emblem of Awakening, is a holy princess who believes in hope and never falls to despair. The character is at her best when fighting alongside allies. She has powerful offense and defense when allies are nearby.
