Super Smash Bros. for 3DS 1.0.4 patch coming later this month
Posted on 10 years ago by Jarop(@gamrah) in 3DS, News | 7 Comments
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be receiving yet another update, though it appears this one will be a bit more significant than what we’ve previously seen. Nintendo will be including some ‘balance fixes’ and while they haven’t detailed specifically what that means, those that have version 1.0.3 or earlier will not be able to challenge those on 1.0.4 once they’ve updated.

The one large change we made to this stage is this Hylian text. I wonder what it says? Also featured in this pic is Link in Fierce Deity colors.

Toon Link amiibo compatible with MK8; Toon Link, Zelda, and Sheik supported in Hyrule Warriors
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 8 Comments
Nintendo’s Japanese amiibo website confirms additional functionality for some figures.
First, Toon Link will be compatible in Mario Kart 8 – likely another Mii costume. Toon Link, Zelda, and Sheik are also supported in Hyrule Warriors.
You may recall that Nintendo announced amiibo functionality for all of the Smash Bros. figures in Hyrule Warriors during last week’s Nintendo Direct. However, it seems that Toon Link, Zelda, and Sheik will offer unique functionality rather than randomly selected materials, weapons and rupees.

Next couple of amiibo rounds confirmed for Japan – Shulk, Rosalina, Sonic, Mega Man, and more
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 31 Comments
Nintendo is releasing amiibo figures in waves. In Japan, there will be eight figures in round two and another three in the third set.
Fan favorites like Shulk and Rosalina will be available in the second set. And perhaps most importantly, the first third-party figures are releasing in the third – Sonic and Mega Man.
Most of the figures pictured above are due out in Japan on January 22. Shulk, Sonic, and Mega Man are the three expected in February. Pricing is set at 1,200 yen each.
To summarize:
January 22
Lucario
Rosalina
Bowser
Toon Link
Sheik
Ike
Meta Knight
King Dedede
February
Shulk
Sonic
Mega Man
Just as a reminder, this is for Japan only. It’s slightly confusing because the amiibo rounds are different between the west and Japan. We’re getting Zelda, Luigi, and a few others in December, which is round two for us. But Japan is getting all of these figures in their first round at launch.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric has its fair share of bugs
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Videos, Wii U | 11 Comments
Sonic Boom is a game that will probably need a patch, if possible. Unfortunately, it appears to be affected by quite a number of bugs.
Take a look at the video above for just one example. If you checked out the videos we posted yesterday (since removed), you may have also seen a glitch that allowed players to easily go beyond the boundaries of the game world into oblivion.
Wii U update version 5.3.0 out now – amiibo settings
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 6 Comments
Yet another Wii U system update is now available. Version 5.3.0 can be downloaded by visiting system settings.
Speaking of system settings, that’s what today’s update is all about. You’ll now find a new category for amiibo. By visiting the amiibo settings, users can register an amiibo owner/nickname, delete data written to an amiibo, or reset amiibo.
Additionally, Nintendo has also improved Wii U stability and usability.
Head past the break for Nintendo’s official update notes.
