Fire Emblem Engage devs on bringing in Mika Pikazo as the game’s illustrator

Nintendo has published the second portion of its Fire Emblem Engage developer interview, this time focusing on the game’s art. As part of this, we get to hear about how Mika Pikazo was brought on as the game’s illustrator.
The interview features director Tsutomu Tei and producer Masahiro Higuchi plus Nintendo’s Genki Yokota and Kenta Nakanishi. Read what they had to say below.
Raiden III x Mikado Maniax confirmed for Switch in the west

NIS America will publish Raiden III X Mikako Maniax on Switch in the west, the company just announced. The title will be available this summer in North America and Europe.
Raiden III x Mikado Maniax was originally announced for Japan this past October. The initial launch is scheduled for February 23, 2023.
Elderand release date set for February, new trailer

Publisher Graffiti Games and developer Mantra have set a release date for Elderand, their gruesome action platformer with RPG elements. Switch owners can pick it up starting on February 16, 2023.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are highlighting the Expansion Pass for Fire Emblem Engage one again today, and has introduced Edelgard / Dimitri / Claude. This comes courtesy of the Japanese Twitter account and SatsumaFS.
This trio, known as the Three-Pronged Emblem, is a bracelet with three people inside. You can read more about how they play in battle below.
Puzzle game nOS lands on Switch this month

Tank Force is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch

Hamster is bringing Tank Force to Switch this week as the latest Arcade Archives title for the platform, the company announced today. It will be available on January 19, 2023.
Tank Force, which was made by Namco (Bandai Namco) first released in 1991. The shooter only stayed in Japan, so the game didn’t originally see an international launch.

Miyamoto once shot down a “Walupeach” character

A 2008 Nintendo Dream interview is making the rounds due some information that it contains regarding what could have been another character known as Walupeach. Twitter user gosokkyu shared some translation tidbits.
The discussion is with Shugo Takahashi, a co-founder of Camelot. Given how Nintendo was open to good ideas, it turns out that a pitch was made for Walupeach who would have been included in their next game. However, Mario creator vetoed the idea before they could even show him their design. Apparently Miyamoto felt that it would end up like Doronjo.
