3DS eShop

Futuridium EP Deluxe made it to the Wii U eShop in May. Then in September, MixedBag Games published a New 3DS release. Strangely, both versions have now disappeared.

Reader TruExtent informed us about the situation this week. Unfortunately, it’s not entirely clear why Futuridium EP Deluxe has been pulled from the eShop.

TruExtent called Nintendo a few days ago, and was told that Futuridium EP Deluxe was taken down from the eShop on November 9. Apparently it had something to do with a license expiring, but specifics weren’t shared. It’s currently unclear if and when Futuridium EP Deluxe will return. We’ve tried reaching out to MixedBag Games, but have not heard back from the studio.

Capcom is running a winter sale on the North American Wii U and 3DS eShops (Europe as well), but there are a ton of other discounts on both digital stores. Legend of Kay Anniversary, Runbow, SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Heist, Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures, and Lord of Magna are just a few of the included games.

We’ve rounded up some of the more notable sales across both platforms. The full list can be seen below.

Two new games have received release dates on the European eShop.

On 3DS, Choice Provisions will be publishing Shift DX towards the start of January. The game will be ready on January 12 for €4.99.

Also, on Wii U, we have Toby: The Secret Mine – which we just heard about yesterday. It’s set for January 19 with a €9.99 price point.

We’ve included the eShop listings for both titles below.

Image & Form posted the latest episode of The Engine Room today. The studio talked about – or rather teased – its plans for 2017, including the next SteamWorld game.

It would appear that the proper announcement of the new project isn’t too far off, as it will actually be shown at PAX East in March. SteamWorld Quest should be the name going off of what we heard a few months ago, though it’s not officially set in stone.

The first actual footage from 80s Overdrive has finally been shown. It may only last for just over a minute, but we’re able to really see the racer in action – snazzy music and all.

Here’s the clip:

As for when we’ll be seeing 80s Overdrive on the eShop, we sadly still have a long ways to go. The developer mentioned on Twitter that the game is targeted for Q1 / Q2 2017.
