More Wii U / 3DS maintenance happening in a few hours

It’s been a busy time for Nintendo maintenance as of late. That continues later tonight, with two hours of maintenance planned for Wii U and 3DS.
The schedule is as follows:
– 5 PM PT (January 18) – 7 PM PT (January 18)
– 8 PM ET (January 18) – 10 PM ET (January 18)
– 1 AM in the UK (January 19) – 3 AM in the UK (January 19)
– 2 AM in Europe (January 19) – 4 AM in Europe (January 19)
Worth a reminder: 3DS’ maintenance scheduled for next week remains on track.

Switch / 3DS cartridges comparison

Rather than using discs, Switch features cartridges as its way of reading physical games. The last system to use that type of storage was 3DS. A comparison of the cartridges between both can be found above.

Etrian Odyssey designer shares an illustration to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary

Today marks the 10th anniversary of videogame series Etrian Odyssey. The game was first released in Japan for the DS system on January 18 2007.
Now, in order to celebrate this anniversary, series character designer Yuji Himukai has shared the illustration that you can see above on Twitter.
These series of videogames have been a must have on both DS and 3DS. We are still waiting for a localization of the last one, Etrian Odyssey V, which hasn’t released outside of Japan.

New Capcom TV featuring Monster Hunter XX – weapon from Fairy Tail creator, Lao-Shan Lung

The latest episode of Capcom TV just wrapped up, and Monster Hunter XX was once again heavily featured. Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima first stopped by to show off Uranometria, the weapon he designed for the game. He also played through the title, and there was a fight with Lao-Shan Lung.

Mario Sports Superstars releasing March 30 in Japan

Nintendo has announced that Mario Sports: Superstars will be launching on March 30 in Japan. The 3DS title will cost 4,980 yen. A release date for other territories has not been confirmed yet, but they will probably be announced relatively soon. The announcement page also features a few screenshots of the game, showing the five different events (Soccer, Baseball, Tennis, Golf, and Horseback Riding), which you can view below:

Nintendo opened the full Japanese Goodbye! BoxBoy! website today. New details about the game are shared, and we have news about how amiibo works.
Qbby and the rest of the gang who are riding the Box Ship are saving planets eroded by haze to restore the universe to its original form. With the ship, they head to a planet infested by haze, but Qbby ends up falling down to one planet in particular. The game picks up here.

Bandai Namco making Pro Yakyuu Famista Climax for 3DS, heading to Japan in April

Bandai Namco has announced Pro Yakyuu Famista Climax for 3DS, following up on Pro Yakyuu Famista 2011 and Pro Yakyuu Famista Returns.
Pro Yakyuu Famista Climax is the 30th anniversary title in the series. For this game, the main phrase is “Create, Raise, Battle!”.
With acknowledgement from the Nippon Professional Baseball organization, data of actual pro baseball athletes is being used as of the 2017 season. Some new elements will be present for the first time.
The game adds members of the Meikyu-Kai (Golden Players Club) such as Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima plus female athletes from the JWBL (Japan Women’s Baseball League). Team mascots will also be in as playable athletes.
Existing game modes will also be enhanced, such as Team Raising mode, Famista Quest (mini-game in which players collect athletes), and online versus.
For a limited time, a download code will be given for Famista Retro. This contains data of the 2017 season athletes from 12 teams. Also, there will be a code to obtain the legendary athlete Masahiro Yamamoto, who as the main promotion character of this game will appear on Namco Stars team as Yamamomo.
