This coming Friday (August 12), select GameStop locations will be hosting a Metroid Prime: Federation Force demo event. Fans can stop by stores between 4 PM and 7 PM local time to try out the game before launch. Nintendo says you’ll be able to play with up to four others in various co-op missions.

Head past the break for the lineup of participating GameStops. Metroid Prime: Federation Force arrives on August 19.

A Mario Party: Star Rush fact sheet issued by Nintendo a couple of months ago listed itself as the developer. Some had hoped this was a sign that ND Cube wouldn’t be involved in the project. However, an official classification from Australia indicates that the studio is working on Star Rush after all.

ND Cube has making Mario Party games for some time now, including Mario Party 10. The team also created Mario Party: Island Tour, the last entry on 3DS.

Mario Party: Star Rush was first announced during E3 2016 in June. It’s due out in October in Europe, and November in North America.

Update (8/6): Z-Crystal 9 Pack now up for pre-order on Amazon here.

Update (8/4): Was out of stock for a bit on Amazon, but it’s back now. GameStop is also taking pre-orders for the “Z-Ring Crystals 3 Pack”.

Original (8/3): A whole bunch of Pokemon Sun/Moon information was unleashed earlier in the week. The latest update included details on new Pokemon, the island challenge, and Z-Moves.

Z-Moves are powerful attacks that can be executed once per battle when a Trainer and Pokemon’s wishes resonate with each other. They can be performed with the Z-Ring fitted on a Trainer’s arm, with Z-Crystals set into it. If a Pokemon holds the same type of Z-Crystal, the two will be able to resonate with one another.

The Pokemon Company is teaming up with Tomy to bring out a real-life version of the Z-Ring and Z-Crystals later this year. When a player using the Z-Move, the Z-Ring lights up, vibrates, and emits sounds to go along with what’s happening in-game.

Pre-orders for the Z-Ring (Set) are starting to live. It includes the Z-Ring, three Z-Crystals, and a 2-inch Pikachu figure. For those in the United States, you can place an order on Amazon here or GameStop here. In Europe, pre-orders are live on Amazon Germany here. We’ll keep you informed about other pre-order news.

Here are some new images and details from the Amazon product page:

Katrielle Layton is starring as the protagonist in Lady Layton. It’s a significant change for the series, as a female is taking the lead role.

As for why it was decided to have Katrielle featured in the new entry, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino told Famitsu this week that roughly half of the franchise’s user base is female. Even though there might be a feeling that men do not connect with male characters with the same going for women and female characters, Hino still hopes to appeal to the latter demographic. With drama series, main female characters were able to become big hits after women responded well to them.

Hino also mentioned to Famitsu that Lady Layton has various chapters with their own stories. The overall structure can be compared to that of a television series.

Nintendo has a few things in store for Gamescom 2016 later this month, aside from playable games. The company has now shared a bit more about its plans.

Pokemon developer Shigeki Morimoto, Splatoon developer Hisashi Nogami, and a developer behind Dragon Quest VII will all be appearing as guests. Tim Feldner is set to moderate the Nintendo houseparty on stage which will feature guests, signing session, live demos, contests, and more.

A select group of fans will be able to try out Zelda: Breath of the Wild at Gamescom. To have a shot at playing the demo, you’ll need to win a spot in the current contest (until August 8 for those in Germany, Austria or Switzerland) or win in the Pokken Tournament, Splatoon, Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart 8 tournament at the Gamescom. Players who are victorious in the tournaments will also receive a trophy.
