Nintendo president apologizes for Switch Joy-Con issues

Switch has suffered from a major issue since launch, which has unfortunately still not been addressed. The system’s Joy-Con controllers tend to drift after extended use. What that means is that the joystick will think it’s being tilted even though the player isn’t actually moving it. Needless to say, it can cause some headaches when you’re actually playing.
During Nintendo’s 80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, president Shuntaro Furukawa did issue a brief apology. Furukawa passed along the following message in response to an investor question:

During Nintendo’s 80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, president Shuntaro Furukawa commented on the system’s success. He explained that the Switch Lite’s release played a big role. Additionally, Nintendo is able to focus all development efforts on a single platform rather than two at once. Right now, Nintendo is looking at extending the Switch’s life cycle.
Director and senior executive officer Ko Shioda also noted that Nintendo focuses on fun experiences instead of the technical power of the console. He said that the number of families playing together on Switch reaffirms the value of having a dedicated gaming console.
Jump Rope Challenge records close to 600 million jumps

Nintendo provided another update on the success of Jump Rope Challenge at its 80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders late last week. Since launch, the downloadable title has recorded over 590 million jumps.
On June 18, the game was at 200 million jumps. That was achieved after Jump Rope Challenge released on June 15.

During Nintendo’s 80th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, president Shuntaro Furukawa apologized for the lack of Switch stock in recent months. Furukawa said that the company has had trouble maintaining global supply since the launch of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Because of the high demand and interest in the system, it was noted that increasing production may take some time to resolve.
Furukawa also said that Nintendo is taking the stock situation very seriously. Although production has already ramped up, the company have an immediate response beyond further studies of the market and demand forecasts.

Dex coming to Switch in July after missing out on Wii U release

Dex is a game we covered way back in the day. The story-driven action/stealth side-scrolling RPG was funded on Kickstarter, with a Wii U version included. Although it’s probably safe to say that we won’t be seeing Dex on Nintendo’s older console, it will be getting a release on Switch – and very soon at that.
A listing on the eShop reveals that Dex is making its way to Switch on July 24. QubicGames will be publishing on behalf of developer Dreadlocks.

Ninjala developer GungHo has announced that the online action battle game has surpassed two million downloads in six days.
To celebrate the milestone, GungHo is giving Ninjala players 100 Jala.
Ninjala is currently available for download on Switch via the eShop.
Pokemon Masters hosting Serena’s Dessert Party, Fire-type Training Event

A pair of Pokemon Masters activities have kicked off today in Pokemon Masters. Along with the new release of the Spotlight Scout that adds Serena and Fennekin, players can experience a story event and training event.
For Serena’s Dessert Party, there’s a story with Serena as she enters Pasio. It concludes with a big new Arena style battle where you take on against opponents using up to 9 Sync Pairs.
