Skybound reaches deal with Telltale to continue developing The Walking Dead: The Final Season

No one really saw it coming, but Telltale Games has essentially closed. Everything transpired out of the blue, which left The Walking Dead: The Final Season in flux. Two episodes are currently available, but two more were promised. Telltale later said it would try to pass of the final two episodes to an outside entity. Now there’s finally news on that front.
Skybound has announced that a deal has been reached with Telltale to continue developing The Walking Dead: The Final Season. The company says it intends to “wrap up Clem’s story right”.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima director on bringing the game to Switch

Last month, Square Enix announced a ton of Final Fantasy games for Switch. As far as mainline titles go, we’ll be getting Final Fantasy VII, IX, X / X-2 HD Remaster, and XII: The Zodiac Age. If that wasn’t enough, Square Enix is also bringing over Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy!, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition, and World of Final Fantasy Maxima. Oh, and Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is alrady available on the eShop.
At the Tokyo Game Show last month, Square Enix spoke about bringing all of these Final Fantasy games to Switch (and additional platforms in general). It was mentioned that fans wanted to play them on more systems, so this was their answer to that.

Hamster has quickly become one of the most prolific companies when it comes to bringing back classic games. On a weekly basis, the eShop has been receiving new NeoGeo and arcade titles.
Yet what goes behind all of that? How is Hamster able to bring back these classic games on a weekly basis? In a recent interview with Famitsu, Arcade Archives producer Satoshi Hamada was brought in to answer the import questions. He spoke about working with Nintendo on its arcade titles, the reason Hamster has weekly releases, and what the fast pace of development is like.

Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle adding DLC character Youmu Konpaku

Mediascape and Cubetype announced a DLC character for Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle during a live stream on Niconico today. Youmu Konpaku is coming to the game, the two sides announced.
A new system is also planned for Touhou Kobuto V. However, specifics have yet to be shared.
Youmu Konpaku and the new system will be out in Japan this winter.

During a live stream on Niconico today, updates were provided on a pair of Touhou titles.
First up, Touhou Sky Arena: Matsuri Climax is coming to Switch either in November or December in Japan. The game is actually seeing a delay as it was previously planned for summer.

Saber Interactive essentially released NBA Playgrounds itself last year. But this year, the company teamed up with 2K for NBA 2K Playgrounds 2. It’s more than just a slight rebrand and publishing deal, as 2K actually provided assistance to improve the game.
After noticing that NBA Playgrounds sold one million copies, 2K wanted to get involved. Saber CEO Matthew Karch told Polygon that Saber already “had a solid game”, but 2K gave “very substantial” contributions to the project. Karch estimates that “20 percent of the improvements to the game have taken place over the last four to five months of development with those guys.”
Europe’s top 15 downloads on the Switch eShop for September 2018

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for September 2018.
During the month, Undertale was the top seller. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, another newcomer, lands at #3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has also moved up several spot and was the second best-selling game.

I Hate Running Backwards initially released a few months ago. The Switch version is now complete, and will arrive this month. The North American and European eShops both show a release date of October 19.
