Miitomo has been updated with more content. Users will find returning stages with more items.
“Look sharp! Smart Dresser” is the returning theme. The stages provide the following:
– Regal jacket w/ bow tie
– Fine plaid skirt
– Girls’ prep school top (set)
– Girls’ prep school skirt (set)
– Dashing jacket + vest
– Way-casual pants
– Frilly sailor outfit
– Frilly sailor outfit
– Casual school top
– Casual blazer
– Casual school pants
– Casual sneakers
The returning stage will be available until October 10 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.

ARMS version 3.2.0 arriving this month, trailer

Today, Nintendo debuted a brand new trailer showing what’s to come for ARMS, as a new update is on the way. Version 3.2.0 arrives later this month.

The big highlight of the trailer is towards the end when Nintendo shows a character who definitely looks a lot like Spring Man. What’s going on there?
Pokemon GO update rolling out (version 1.47.1 / 0.77.1)

Another new update is making its way out for Pokemon GO. On iOS, players will have access to version 1.47.1. Android users will be able to download 0.77.1.
The latest update mainly involves bug fixes. Also, costumed Pokemon can no longer be mass-transferred, and a confirmation dialogue will show up when attempting to transfer such Pokemon.

Spelunker Party! demo live on the Switch eShop

Square Enix has published a demo for Spelunker Party! on the Switch eShop. You can find it in both North America and Europe. Simply boot up the eShop, visit the “Coming Soon” section, and visit the official game page. You should then see an option to download the demo.
The Spelunker Party! demo takes up 363MB of free space. Square Enix will release the full game on October 19.

Axiom Verge creator pleased with Switch launch sales

Axiom Verge only just came out on Switch this past Thursday, but creator Tom Happ is pleased with how the game is doing so far. On launch day, Happ wrote on Twitter that it “seems to be selling quite well”. That’s in spite of the fact that other high-quality titles debuted on the store, including Stardew Valley and Oxenfree.
Switch AV seems to be selling quite well day 1, even considering all the other games releasing today! What a great console.

Putting things into further perspective, Axiom Verge did better on Switch than Wii U in its first day:

Nintendo was initially planning Super Mario Sunshine to be a “disaster recovery mission-style game”

This month, RetroGamer sat down with Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi. The two sides didn’t really talk about Super Mario Odyssey, however. Instead, the conversation was focused on a different project from Koizumi’s past: Super Mario Sunshine.
Koizumi directed Super Mario Sunshine on the GameCube 15 years ago. Initially, the team had a very different plan in mind for the game. Rather than the strictly 3D platforming gameplay that we know of, Nintendo instead was “exploring the idea of a disaster recovery mission-style game.”

Nintendo Treehouse talks Mario Odyssey’s Snapshot Mode, Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s battle system

The Nintendo Treehouse Log updated this past week with entries for two big entries. Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were both covered.
First, here’s an excerpt about the Snapshot Mode in Super Mario Odyssey:
This game’s all about the fun and excitement of travel, so it makes sense that the dev team created a tool to help you preserve those memories. After all, part of the fun of a journey is sharing photos of the big moments with your friends! But what really surprised me the first time I tried out Snapshot Mode was how robust its toolset was…
It utilizes the same Capture Button you’re used to on your Nintendo Switch, and it lets you share images in all the same ways that’re built into that system, too. But from there, it offers you a whole lot more. I’ve been messing around with Snapshot Mode a bunch since it first got added to the game. Over the next few posts I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite recent shots, and a bit of info about how I captured each one…
And an excerpt about the battle system in Xenoblade Chronicles 2:
To begin with, let’s discuss Blades. Blades are synthetic beings who wield different weapons full of tremendous power. Each Blade is born from what is called a Core Crystal. When a person touches a Blade’s Core Crystal, he or she will bond with that Blade and, as a result, be able to command that Blade in battle. A person who has bonded with a Blade is known as that Blade’s “Driver.”
Here we see a powerful and mysterious Blade, Pyra, alongside her Driver, Rex.
Drivers can bond with many different Blades, but can only command up to three in battle at a time. This is a big point at which strategy comes into play—once you’ve bonded with multiple Blades, which will you take into battle, and who will you start with? An indicator at the lower left of the game screen shows you who your current three Blades are; the top position represents the lead Blade, who always enters battle first.Here we see Pyra in the first position, with Finch and Kogoku in the second and third positions respectively.
A small amount of time must pass before you can swap to one of your other two Blades. There are ways to shorten this amount of time by using Blades more frequently or completing quests, but there will always be a bit of a wait. And which Blade you choose to start battle with should always be part of your plans.From there, though, battle strategy gets even more complex. Think of it like peeling an onion—there are lots of layers to go!
