Here’s something that you may not know about Project Octopath Traveler. Francesca Baerald, an artist and cartographer, has a fairly significant role. Square Enix brought her on board to handle the map.

This week, Baerald was kind enough to share the full map shown in Project Octopath Traveler’s reveal trailer from 2017. It was made with watercolor and ink on paper.

Nintendo Switch

Switch has been hitting all sorts of milestones as of late. As one example, the platform has become the fastest-selling home system in a number of countries, including Spain. Nintendo appears to have reached notable mark in Spain as well.

Gamereactor reports that, in Spain, more Switch units are out there than the Xbox One. If the site’s information is correct, Nintendo has sold more units in 10 months than Microsoft has in almost 50.

Gamereactor further adds that Switch has sold over 300,000 units in Spain. As for the Xbox One, it was hovering just below that number by the end of 2017.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Nintendo has announced that version 1.3.0 of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be available in mid-February. This patch will add a New Game+ function to the game. Details on that mode haven’t been announced yet, though it was previously hinted at that in New Game+ you will be able to get certain Blades that are used by the antagonists.

1.3.0 will also contain a bug fix for an issue that was introduced in version 1.2.0, wherein a Blade synchronized with a certain Driver will not be displayed on the Blade list in mid-chapter 7.

The second round of the Choose Your Legends vote for Fire Emblem Heroes is currently underway. We’re halfway through the voting period (it ends on January 29th) and Intelligent Systems decided to publish the current standings of the vote.

The previous winners (Ike, Roy, Lyn and Lucina) are exluded from this vote. Naturally, those who placed high in the first round of the vote but didn’t quite win are doing well in this round, such as Camilla, Eirika, Hector or Marth. The recent release of Fire Emblem Echoes definitely help boost the popularity of some of its characters – Celica is leading the female vote and Alm is ranked fourth in the male vote. Another trend are some of the original Heroes characters that aren’t available to players yet, such as Veronica and Loki. Finally, characters that Heroes made popular because of their usefulness in-game are also doing well in the vote, with the obvious example being Reinhardt who is currently in fifth place. In the first Choose Your Legends vote, he ended up in 584th place.

Head past the break for images of the current male and female standings.

It’s the end of the week, which means another new weapon addition to Splatoon 2. This time, it’s the Rapid Blaster Deco, which has the same stats as the regular Rapid Blaster, but comes with the Suction Bomb sub-weapon and the Inkjet special. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.
