Rime dev believed the game wouldn’t be released at one point, explains how it changed
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 3 Comments
Rime is finally launching in May. It’s been a long and stressful development period for Tequila Works, having originally announced its project in 2013.
Tequila Works creative director Raul Rubio admitted to IGN that Rime’s development was actually in jeopardy at one point. As he explained:
“Yes, there were a lot of moments where we thought that the game wasn’t going to be released. In fact I was completely sure of that once. Fortunately that didn’t happened.”
“That [possibility] was always for technical reasons. Not for financial or something business related.”
“When we announced that we were acquiring back Rime’s IP there were cancellation rumors. The truth is that in that precise moment we were moving to a bigger office, that’s pretty far from being closing a Company, isn’t it?”

Senran Kagura creator talks about his Switch project and how he wants to use the HD Rumble feature

Senran Kagura creator Kenichiro Takagi has talked quite a bit about the Switch in recently, and he was also one of the developers invited to attend the Switch presentation in Tokyo last week. In a recent Famitsu interview, he shared his ideas for his planned Switch project and how he wants to make use of a certain Switch feature:
“It ’s the HD Rumble after all. Because I want to express “softness” with it. I already created a project, and now I’m in the middle of focusing on how to realise it. I think games have a “sensation of touching” in many meanings, so I want to realise a new experience that ’s exclusive to Nintendo Switch.”
I’m sure we can all imagine what he’s talking about.

The Unlikely Legend Rusty Pup: Wii U version cancelled, coming to Switch instead
Posted on 8 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in 3DS eShop, News, Switch eShop, Wii U eShop | 11 Comments
In an interview with Nintendo Life, The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup creator Chris Seaver of Gory Detail has stated that development of the Wii U version of the puzzle platformer has stopped for now. Instead, the focus lies on the PC version at the moment – however, as soon as Gory Detail get their hands on a Switch developer kit, they will work on porting the game to Nintendo’s newest system. Additionally, Seaver stated that a release of the 3DS version is “dependent on resources and time issues”.
Here are his statements in full:
“We’re looking to have everything done on the PC side by September or so, the Nintendo Switch side of things depends on when dev kits become available. As you can imagine there’s a lot of people wanting them and I can’t imagine little indies like us are too high on the list. We’ll see.
I’d pretty much back-burnered the Wii U in terms of dev for a while now because of the cost to develop on something that was increasingly seen as a dead end system. Along comes the Switch, hopefully reinvigorating Nintendo’s home console market. It all dovetails nicely. Switch is pretty much a defo, just not sure when. 3DS is dependent on resources and time issues but currently a yes. Wii U, nah.”
