Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night delayed, now targeted for the first half of 2018
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 21 Comments
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was originally scheduled to arrive next March. Unfortunately, the game is now seeing a major delay.
In a Kickstarter update, creator Koji Igarashi explained that he wants to ensure that the project meets his “quality standards”. With the team’s “current production set-up and release deadline,” that may have been impossible to realize. New developers are now being brought in to keep development going at a steady pace. This all means that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night won’t be ready until the first half of 2018.
Here’s the news straight from Igarashi:

Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Videos | 5 Comments
In North America, we know of the latest Shin Megami game as Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. But in Japan, it was called Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final. Atlus has now made a silly little video to show how they arrived at the English title – see it below.
In other news, Atlus is readying a free 3DS theme. Nozomi, Gaston, and other members of the demon hunting squad are featured.

[Review] Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice
Posted on 9 years ago by Jakob Vujovic(@jakovujo) in 3DS eShop, Reviews | 3 Comments
System: 3DS (eShop)
Release date: September 8, 2016
Developer: Capcom
Publisher Capcom
I won’t dance around saying that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is kind of a mess, albeit a lovable one. If you think too hard about the overall plot, setting aside a few genuinely good and surprising twists, it’s full of laughably bad inconsistencies and weak writing choices. However, if you shut that part of your brain off – the one that checks for internal consistency – and focus on the moment-to-moment mystery plot and absurdity of what unfolds in these courtrooms, then it’s a much better experience. In other words, Spirit of Justice is yet another Ace Attorney game made in the absence of series creator Shu Takumi.

Miyamoto says Nintendo is “interested in” amiibo on mobile
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Mobile, News | 0 comments
Thus far, we’ve seen amiibo incorporated into both Wii U and 3DS. The functionality is likely to be integrated into NX as well. But what about smart devices, which Nintendo is now supporting quite a bit?
Shigeru Miyamoto appears to be open to the idea. Speaking with IGN, Miyamoto mentioned: “There’s nothing we can announce today but it’s certainly an area we’re interested in, and today Apple announced some new news about their NFC technology.”
It’s not a confirmation, but that sounds like a very positive response. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see amiibo-supported mobile titles in the future.

Pokemon GO becomes fastest mobile game ever to reach $500 million in revenue
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 2 Comments
Yesterday, Niantic CEO John Hanke confirmed that Pokemon GO has topped 500 million downloads. App Annie now reports that the game has earned over $500 million in worldwide customer spending across iOS and Android. It’s the fastest title to reach that mark, as Candy Crush Saga took over 200 days and Clash of Clans and Puzzle & Dragons took over 400 days. Pokemon GO hit the mark in just over 60 days. Incredibly, it’s on track to reach $1 billion in revenue by the end of 2016.
You can read more about Pokemon GO in App Annie’s report here. The article goes over retention rate a bit, as well as the impact of non-gaming apps.
