Switch eShop currently experiencing issues

It wouldn’t be a holiday without some network overload, which is what seems to taking place with the Switch eShop at the moment. Nintendo says that it is “experiencing difficulties with our network services”.
The Switch eShop may take a few attempts to load, or it may not start up at all. We’ve also seen reports of users being unable to download games. If you make a purchase and it’s not appearing on the home menu, you can rest easy knowing that you’re not alone and it’s a temporary problem.
Nintendo is likely on the case and should be working on any and all issues. Hopefully it’ll all be fixed before too long.
