The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

Original developer CD Projekt Red was involved in bringing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to Switch. However, Saber Interactive handled a great deal of the technical work. In an interview with GamesBeat, chief executive officer Matthew Karch discussed the porting project in detail.

Karch mentioned that The Witcher 3 was initially “running at 10 frames per second, was taking 50% more memory than the Switch has, and the build size was 20GB larger than the biggest Switch cartridge.” Saber therefore turned off dynamic shadowed lights, removed screen-space ambient occlusion, and lowered the number of NPCs in the world by 30 percent.

That last change didn’t go over well, as Karch explained:

Switch has reached another milestone, this time in Spain. Total sales of the console have now reached 1,036,000 units. That’s after two years and nine months.

In 2019, Switch has sold 332,000 units, and it has another big sales month of December remaining.

These are top five best-selling Switch games in Spain to date:

Earlier this week, Koei Tecmo announced Winning Post 9 2020 for Nintendo Switch, an updated version of Winning Post 9. We already knew it was launching in March 2020, but we now have a concrete date: March 12, 2020. Once again, this is the Japanese release date; a Western release is fairly unlikely. The game will cost 8,580 Yen and pre-orders will open on December 9.
