Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II delayed

Original (8/24): Aksys Games and Experience provided an update on Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II, revealing that the game has been delayed to February 2024. We should have a specific date closer to launch.

Previously, the title was planned to ship sometime this year. Aksys and Experience did not provide a reason for the updated release plans.

Deltarune creator Toby Fox has provided another update on the project, including news about launch timing once Chapter 4 is ready to go.

Fox confirmed that Chapter 3 “is pretty much content complete”. And since Chapter 5 is a long ways off, the plan is to let fans purchase the game once Chapter 4 – which already “has a very substantial amount of cutscenes and enemy work done” – is ready. Fox confirmed that a new producer has been hired to speed up the rest of development as well.

Fox said in a newsletter today:

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

The latest EDGE review scores for issue #391 (December 2023 issue) are as follows:

Smash Bros. future Sakurai

Masahiro Sakurai posted another video on his YouTube channel today, which delves into the making of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and once again includes a brief comment about the series’ future. A good amount here was known previously, but it’s worth a watch in any case.

Sakurai started out by talking about the concept of bringing back all fighters and general development such as how the team didn’t need to start over completely since Bandai Namco was brought back and there’s “some similar architecture” between Switch and Wii U. The team was able to move on right from Bayonetta as DLC for Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS right into Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sakurai came up with a lengthy proposal regarding new feature and adjustments, which even included the possibility of VR support before Nintendo Labo was announced.
