Nintendo Switch

Switch has reached another major milestone. Based on the latest information provided by NPD, Nintendo has confirmed that its console is now the fastest-selling home gaming system ever in Canada.

Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s general manager and senior director, said in a statement today:

“The response that the Nintendo Switch has received from Canadians has been nothing short of spectacular. We’re thrilled to have seen such record-breaking momentum in 2017.”

Nintendo announced earlier this month that Switch had become the fastest-selling home video game system of all time in the U.S. as well. Over 4.8 million units have been sold in the country since launch.

Original (1/17): IGN France appears to have a bit of additional information about Nintendo Labo. According to the site’s report, “the kits will not be mandatory – although the cartridge is needed – since Nintendo plans to offer the cardboard design pattern for free for aspiring builders”.

Nintendo Labo will be starting out with the Variety Kit and Robot Kit on April 20. A Customization Set will also be sold that includes fun stencils, stickers, and colored tape.

During a video broadcast today, Nippon Ichi announced the latest information about the Disgaea series.

First, CEO Sohei Niikawa revealed that a remake of Disagea 1 is in the works. It will be released in Japan this summer. No information or images were shared, but given the success of Disgaea 5 Complete and the company’s commitment to Switch, this one should end up on Nintendo’s console.

Niikawa also teased the next entry in the series, Disgaea 6. However, we have even less information about this one, so we may not be hearing about it anytime soon.
