Capcom’s latest comment on Monster Hunter XX localization

GameSpot reported today that after reaching out to Capcom, the publisher has no plans to localize Monster Hunter XX for the west. The series’ official Twitter account has since put out the following:
Just to clarify: our official response is we have not announced any plans to localize MHXX at this time. https://t.co/mI31mcrrvE
— Monster Hunter (@monsterhunter) June 14, 2017
Admittedly, that comment doesn’t really clarify the situation. Capcom did tack on “at this time” though, so perhaps they don’t want to rule out localization entirely. GameSpot also didn’t post Capcom’s original statement word-for-word – it was instead a paraphrase – so that certainly doesn’t help things.
In any case, Monster Hunter XX isn’t heading west… for now. It’s unclear if and when that will change.

Not all levels in Super Mario Odyssey will be automatically accessible. In Treehouse footage shown today, it was mentioned that each Kingdom has secret levels requiring certain outfits. The Mario Maker costume shown above is one example.

Capcom says it has no plans to localize Monster Hunter XX
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Switch | 261 Comments
Monster Hunter XX may end up being a Japanese-only title – at least for the time being. GameSpot got in touch with the company directly to ask about any plans for a western release. Unfortunately, Capcom said it has no plans to localize the game. If that ever changes, we’ll definitely let you know.
Monster Hunter XX originally came out on 3DS last year. If you’re interested in the upcoming Switch release though, importing could be an option for some as the system is region-free.

Yoshiaki Koizumi is hosting a Reddit AMA right now
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 3 Comments
Update: Bumped to the top. It’s now over – we have almost everything below.
Yoshiaki Koizumi, the producer of Super Mario Odyssey, has just started a special AMA on Reddit. He’ll surely be inundated with questions, but you can nonetheless try your luck at having your question answered.
The AMA can be found here. We’ll add in any interesting responses throughout the hour-long session below.
Of all the things Mario can take control of in Odyssey, which is your favourite?
Dinosaur!
Is Koichi Hayashida involved in the development of Mario Odyssey?
Yes, he is!
How did you come up with the mechanic of Mario possessing enemies and objects?
So when we wanted to create Mario games this time around we wanted to focus on the actions Mario can do and in previous Mario games he was able to get power-ups and new abilities. But this time around when we were making many different prototypes and changed our approach that found capturing or “possessing” enemies worked well so we stuck with that.
