Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series launched on numerous platforms, but it turns out that development started out on Switch. That information comes from Ryo Ishida, the game’s producer in a recent issue of Lost In Cult.
Ishida also spoke about revealing Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series in a Nintendo Direct last year, stating that it’s “an excellent medium for spreading information and awareness among game fans” given the high level of anticipation for announcements. He said Bandai Namco was “very grateful for that opportunity.”

The second major expansion for Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, which is titled Blooming of Matricaria, will soon be made available on Switch. Bandai Namco has confirmed that it will launch on March 29, 2023.

Original (3/23): SEGA has just announced Sonic Origins Plus, an expanded version of the original release. It’ll be coming to Switch on June 23, 2023.
Sonic Origins Plus includes twelve Sonic Game Gear titles, playable Knuckles in Sonic CD, and Amy Rose as a playable character in Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD for the first time. The pack also contains previously released add-on content: Extreme Missions, Mirror Mode, new character animations, and additional backgrounds and music.

Dredge getting a physical release on Switch

Fireshine Games is preparing a physical release for Dredge on Switch, it’s been revealed. This will be known as the “Deluxe Edition”.
A number of goodies are included aside from the game. Buyers will also receive the Blackstone Key DLC (two exclusive in-game items), a poster, sticker set, physical art book, and a soundtrack download.

France’s best-selling games of 2022

New data has come in revealing the best-selling games in France for 2022. We have the full top twenty here with specific unit sales.
Pokemon was a big performer for Nintendo, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus selling nearly 600,000 copies and coming in at #3. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also did well – had their sales been combined, they’d be at over 700,000 units. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Nintendo Switch Sports are also in the top five. Keep in mind that Nintendo doesn’t report digital data, so the Big N’s placements are only based on physical copies sold.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land dev on why it took so long for a 3D Kirby game

Kirby finally went 3D with Kirby and the Forgotten Land last year, and according to director Tatsuya Kamiyama, a big reason why it took so long to happen is due to the character’s pink sphere shape. Kamiyama explained why this was such a big obstacle during a session at GDC 2023 this week.
