Life of Pixel is heading to the Wii U eShop this Thursday, Super Icon has announced. Check out an overview below.
Journey across the expertly recreated worlds of more than a dozen vintage gaming systems, from Commodore 64 to Gameboy to SNES… Life of Pixel takes you on a historical tour-de-force across the rich landscape of 8-bit and 16-bit gaming.
You may remember playing them originally, or are the younger generation encountering them for the first time; Life of Pixel on Nintendo Wii U is the game to discover and re-live those classic gaming machines. Take a journey with the wizened Professor Pixel and revisit the golden age of gaming.
Featuring a massive variety of beautiful pixel art from classic 8 & 16-bit game systems, such as Amiga, SNES, Mega Drive, Commodore 64, Apple II, Game Boy, NES, Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum & Master System!
With over 100 fun packed levels of platforming goodness! Chock-full of tricks & traps, double jump challenges, gravity inversions, special power-ups and loads of different enemies. Pixel wants you to help him discover his past and unlock his destiny!

Nindies@Home planned for Australia and New Zealand, classifications causing delay

The Nindies@Home program went live on the North American and European Wii U eShops yesterday. This is a brand new initiative from the Big N, which lets fans preview nine upcoming indie titles for a limited time.
In Australia and New Zealand, this offer has yet to hit the eShop. Nintendo explained in North America and Europe that game demos need to be classified before they’re released in these territories – hence the delay. The company added, “We are currently working with the developers to make it happen in Australia and New Zealand.”

The Nindies@Home programme has been announced by Nintendo in North America and Europe, where fans can access free preview versions of nine Nindie games from Nintendo eShop for Wii U for a limited time.
Down Under, unlike America and Europe, game demos need to be officially classified before their release, therefore in this region we require more time for these titles to be made available.
We are currently working with the developers to make it happen in Australia and New Zealand.

Shiftlings hitting the European Wii U eShop on June 25

Puzzle/strategy game Shiftlings has officially been confirmed for Wii U through a new listing on the European eShop. A PEGI rating found in February suggested that the title would be on Nintendo’s console.
Shiftlings launches on the European Wii U eShop on June 25. Pricing is set at €14.99.
