Wii U version of Rex Rocket put on hold
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Rex Rocket’s Wii U version has been put on hold, developer Castle Pixel confirmed to Nintendo Everything. The studio’s Miguel Vidaure told us that a release on the eShop is “still a possibility”, though it’s “on the back burner due to the time it would take to develop.”
Something that could lead to Rex Rocket hitting Wii U is the Monogame framework. In a report last year, we heard about the technology coming to the console. However, this has yet to actually happen. If Wii U were to gain Monogame support, Vidaure said Rex Rocket would come to Wii U “in no time”.
Castle Pixel has already moved on to its next game, Blossom Tales. There’s a Wii U stretch goal at $250,000, but according to Vidaure, Monogame support would mean that the title would head to Nintendo’s console even if the target isn’t met.

[Review] Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

System: Wii U
Release Date: September 26, 2014
Developer: Koei Tecmo
Publisher: Nintendo

Calling me a Legend of Zelda fan would be a bit of an understatement. If you were to step into my room, you’d be blinded by the posters and merchandise scattered from one wall to another, all finished off with my saddening number of physical Zelda titles. So with the announcement of Hyrule Warriors during last December’s Nintendo Direct, I was nothing short of excited; providing an excuse for having our beloved Zelda worlds and characters collide in one epic horde fighting action game sounds like a dream come true, and every day I spent waiting for the game felt like an eternity. Now that I’ve sped my way through this long journey over the past week, I can safely say my excitement was placed in good hands.

Paradise Lost: First Contact pushed back to mid-2015

Asthree Works has decided to push back Paradise Lost: First Contact to mid-2015. The game was originally slated for this year.
Why the delay? Asthree Works explained in a Kickstarter update that roughly 80 percent of the animations were remade and the team hopes to achieve “balanced core mechanics that could evolve naturally within the player’s experience and type of play. That requires tons of hours of testing and repeating / changing puzzles and situations constantly… we have areas with endless possibilities to go through.”

“U Craft” apparently in the works for Wii U
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 57 Comments
Update (9/26): Second supposed screenshot:

Minecraft was never released on Wii U, and is unlikely to hit the console now that Microsoft purchased Mojang and the IP. However, this leaves a ripe opportunity for indie developers… and it sounds like something is already planned.
The first alpha image from “U Craft” – planned for the Wii U eShop – has been released. Unfortunately, not much is known currently, including the studio behind the project. We can apparently look forward to new information reveals from other studios in the future. Just take this with a grain of salt given the strangeness of U Craft’s announcement.

Adventures of Pip funded on Kickstarter, coming to Wii U
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Adventures of Pip’s second Kickstarter campaign is a success. Total donations crossed the $40,000 mark just a couple of moments ago. As such, Adventures of Pip is now guaranteed for Wii U.
There’s still a little over a week remaining in Adventures of Pip’s Kickstarter. That doesn’t leave too much time for stretch goals, but a notable one lies ahead at $70,000 – “Game+ Mode”.
