Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has mostly wrapped up development. WayForward say it’s now “content complete” and is shifting attention to fixing bugs.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero was most recently targeted for September 27. Unfortunately, it’s now being moved back “by about 6 weeks, give or take.”

WayForward wrote in a Kickstarter update today:

“First things first – we are going to have to adjust our Target Release Date, moving it back from our 9/27 Target Release date by about 6 weeks, give or take. We know this will disappoint some of you, but we feel that it’s necessary to take that extra time for bug fixing and adding additional polish. We know you want the final product to be excellent and so do we! Thanks for your patience and support as we approach the finish line!”

A part of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s Tournament mode is ending very soon. On September 30, the Regular Tourneys feature will no longer be accessible. You’ll simply see a blank area in this section once the date arrives.

Keep in mind that you’ll still be able to make your own tourneys. Nintendo apologizes to those disappointed by today’s news.

The latest episode of Nintendo’s Japanese show Nyannyan Neko Mario Time has now gone live. We’ve included it below.

Mojang and 4J Studios are updating all console versions of Minecraft with a new mini-game this week. The two developers are introducing Tumble, “a frantic competitive clash in which players destroy the very floor beneath their enemies’ feet, sending them plummeting to their doom.”

Tumble is played out in “a best of three, on a series of semi-randomised maps, each with several layers of differing materials and hazards.” Players can choose between two variants: one in which snowballs are used or a second with shovels.

Here’s a trailer for Tumble:

Also coming to Minecraft: Wii U Edition very soon is a new map pack for Battle, the first mini-game. Paying $3 provides access to Castle, Shipyard, and Invasion.

This week’s issue of Famitsu has an interview with Hisashi Nogami, the producer of Splatoon. One portion of the discussion touched on the game’s future.

Famitsu asks if it really is the end for Splatfests. According to Nogami, it was originally decided to run Splatfests for a year. Nintendo was able to continue those events, but they feel now is the right time to have them come to a close.

As for the future specifically, Nogami feels that the game is done. Nintendo has stopped with Splatfests and updates, but they’d still like to build excitement through events such as Splatoon Koshien tournaments. When asked about something like a sequel, Nogami said that Splatoon has been raised together with the fans who have been playing it, and they’d like to continue heading in that direction in the future with the utmost care.
