Ubisoft discusses mission ratings in Assassin’s Creed IV, reveals current favorite

In Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, players can rate each of the game’s missions. Users are given the option of handing out up to five stars.
Ubisoft Motreal user research project manager Jonathan Dankoff told NowGamer that the data provided will assist the company in improving future titles. He said:
“Ubisoft is actually using all of this data to improve future games. Ubisoft has been using data tracking to improve our titles for a while, but this is the first time we will be able to match gameplay metrics to player appreciation in order to dig even deeper into player behavior.
“The combination of the two data sources will give us incredible insight into how players are interacting with our game and guide future development teams to create missions that appeal to our players even more.”
Wondering which mission is Assassin’s Creed IV’s highest-rated thus far? Dankoff revealed:
“We’re still in the early stages of collecting data, but already at this stage it’s impressive to see how closely the mission ratings mirror the results from our own pre-launch playtest sessions. The current favorite mission decided by our fans is Sequence 02 Memory 06: The Treasure Fleet, but I look forward to seeing how the data evolves as more people play!”

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following message on Miiverse:
Plant it, water it, and then timber! It’s high maintenance but totally worth the effort! It needs tactics like never before.

Sonic Lost World off to a very rough start in Japan
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 8 Comments
Sonic games tend not to sell well in Japan. And so it shouldn’t be shocking to see that the franchise’s latest entry, Sonic Lost World, has completely bombed in its first week. That doesn’t make the game’s performance any less disappointing, though.
Media Create’s latest data revealed that the 3DS version of Sonic Lost World sold 4,919 copies in its first few days of availability in Japan. The Wii U version, however, was nowhere to be seen.
Dengeki has come through with sales of its own courtesy of ASCII Media Works. Despite the fact that Sonic Lost World was the best-selling Wii U game in Japan last week, it managed to sell just 2,076 copies.

‘Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix’ art found within Assassin’s Creed: IV
Posted on 11 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Gaming, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 2 Comments
Earlier this year, an image with the branding “Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix” was found online (probably via a leak), and people began speculating that perhaps Ubisoft had accidentally let out a secret Vita project– or even a movie. To peoples’ dismay, Ubisoft promptly denied that they had any involvement with that logo, but today someone found a similar image– with the same logo– hidden within their latest game, Assassin’s Creed IV.
Maybe it was some sort of internal joke, but now that the image is directly tied with the company, it’ll be hard for them to deny some involvement! We’ll see what comes of it.
