Genei Ibun Roku #FE devs – thought about different genres, considered 3DS, more

In late December, Nintendo published Genei Ibun Roku #FE in Japan. Nintendo Dream thought it would make sense to speak with the game’s staff now that development is complete. The Japanese magazine caught up with producer Hitoshi Yamagami (Nintendo), director Kaori Ando (Nintendo), producer Shinjiro Takata (Atlus), director Eiji Ishida (Atlus), chief director Wataru Hirata (Atlus), and art director Fumitaka Yano (Atlus). That’s quite a number of developers indeed!
We’ve translated a lengthy part of the interview below. The excerpts are very insightful, as the developers spoke about how they thought about different genres for the project, considered 3DS (even making a project plan), and more.

German developer King Art Games began making its point-and-click adventure series called “The Book of Unwritten Tales” a few years back. The most recent entry, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, debuted on PC in early 2015, and landed on consoles a few months later. Based on a retailer listing, the title is now slated for Wii U.
Amazon UK lists The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 for release on Wii U on March 22 with Nordic Games handling publishing duties. The Wii U version has already been rated by the ESRB, so it should be coming to North America at some point as well.
You can get an idea as to what The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 offers in the gameplay video below.

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD seems to have a new Poe’s Lantern item
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 8 Comments
Another interesting tidbit has been spotted in yesterday’s Zelda: Twilight Princess HD footage from Nintendo Minute. In the game, players will have access to a new type of lantern item (different from the standard lantern) – possibly one for Poes.
GameXplain speculates that the lantern could be used to spot Poes while in human form. In the original Twilight Princess, you needed to be Wolf Link while using his sense view. Being able to track down Poes with the lantern could make things much more convenient.

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD – tap the GamePad to transform, gyroscope aiming
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 9 Comments
This week’s Nintendo Minute went up earlier tonight. It was somewhat as a surprise, as the episode featured entirely new footage from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Two more tidbits about the game were shared in the video.
First, Kit and Krysta stated explicitly that you can now transform into Wolf Link by simply tapping the GamePad. You won’t need to talk to Midna to make this happen, making things more convenient compared to the original release on Wii and GameCube. It was also shown that you can touch the GamePad again to easily switch back into Link’s normal form.
Later in the video, you can clearly see Krysta moving the GamePad to aim the Clawshot. Gyroscope aiming was sort of a given based on the amiibo trailer (not to mention that it was in Wind Waker HD), but it’s nice to see it in action!

Rumor: New Paper Mario game in the works for Wii U, now being localized and tested
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 138 Comments
Earlier today, Emily Rogers posted several tweets about a rumor she heard pertaining to an unannounced Wii U game from Nintendo. This is based on information that she, along with two other people, gathered from numerous sources. We originally thought that we’d have to wait until Monday for the actual rumor, but the speculation was just now posted instead.
Rumor has it that Intelligent Systems has been developing a new Paper Mario entry for Wii U. It’s now being localized and tested, which suggests that the game could be coming sooner rather than later. At the very least, an announcement in the future would be likely assuming the rumor is true.
Rumor: 5 sources told us a new Paper Mario will be announced this year for Wii U. Developed by Intelligent Systems.

Rumor about an unannounced, Nintendo-published Wii U game to be shared next week
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 139 Comments
Update: Rumor has come in early – potential new Paper Mario game. See this post.
This is sort of a new one! We have an announcement about a rumor coming sometime next week (update: Monday, see added forth tweet below).
Emily Rogers, Liam Robertson, and ShockingAlberto from NeoGAF have supposedly managed to dig up information regarding a new Wii U title. This is a Nintendo-published game as opposed to a third-party release. There’s apparently a decent amount of evidence behind the rumor, as 4-5 sources have provided information.
Rogers shared these messages on Twitter:
So me, @Doctor_Cupcakes, and @Imranzomg (ShockingAlberto on NeoGaf) will share a rumor next week regarding an unannounced Wii U game.
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
We have about 4-5 sources that this unannounced Wii U game exists. And a lot of evidence behind it. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
For the record, this Wii U game is published by Nintendo. It's not a third party game. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
There's no secrecy. We just need the weekend to look over all the information. We'll spill the beans Monday. https://t.co/iVgTWbYKqz
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
Knowing Emily, I don’t think she would be putting these tweets out there if she didn’t feel confident in her sources. Still, it’s important to keep in mind that this will be a rumor at the end of the day instead of something that’s being claimed as actual fact. We’ll see what happens come next week!
